I don’t think we could have asked for anymore at this stage of the pre-season, in fact we are still pre-pre season. We’ve clearly gone all out to recruit early. Sam Beard and Alfie Bendle are the two who left that I’m sure we would all have liked to have kept, but in both cases it’s understandable that they chose to go. What encourages me about the new boys is that even though most are young again, they have all come with decent experience at this level. Alexander scoring goals at various NLS sides is really exciting and Pavey is the type of player we needed all last year - (I guess Green ticked some of those boxes when he came in). So we’ve kept our strong defence and added goal scorers and creative players. Even when Murray improved us last season, we still struggled to score, but with the promise shown by Fin, the pace of Bamba and the new boys, it will surely be different this time. I’d ideally like another holding midfielder, I felt games often bypassed our midfield. I’m really looking forward to the season and it feels like we have more substance this year.
