I couldn't make it last night, but what a result. How did we play?

Complete change of tactics from Saturday, the passing game was back but a bit more direct than earlier in the season. I guess it’s good to have different ways of playing. It took a while to remember how to pass reliably which was punished on 10 mins when our attempt to bring it out from the back provided Havant with the easiest goal they will ever score. A couple of nervy passes in defence followed, but after 25 mins we had some rhythm and looked the better team. Havant offered very little threat and the challenge became a familiar one - can we create chances and can we score them? After getting loads of corners on Saturday and not really threatening it was nice to score one, and it had to be Diarra. 1 - 1 at half time and we had momentum. Not many chances in 2nd half - think it was Leon who played in Bendle who shot at the keeper. Sheriff made it 2-1, being in the right place after a couple of blocked or saved shots. He worked really hard today. We couldn’t get the third to kill the game off so had to hold on but were never under much pressure. It’s nice to now have players who don’t get bullied at such moments. A comedy last 2 mins by the corner flag - using a human shield to block Havant who charged in each time to make clear fouls. Other things of note - manager getting a yellow card for complaints about the ref who was of the usual NLS level. And at the death we made it 2 games in a row with a last min red card. Bendle already on a yellow booted it away just after the ref blew for a foul. Hopefully that’s a lesson learned - I do like him and hope his loan gets extended. Beard went off in some discomfort. We missed Clarke in midfield (but I say that every time he doesn’t play).
