So much to enjoy about the game today. Even though we took the lead, Farnborough looked the better side first half. But having said that we were physical and dealt with their lump of a centre forward Bradbury so much better than we would have earlier in the season. We didn’t crumple and it looked like we had a team of men out there. I can’t remember the last time we had a good second half and even though we didn’t create many chances, Farnborough were hanging on at times under sustained pressure. Strong defenders today, Beard doing well as defensive midfielder, Clarke good as usual. The new players have obviously only just arrived so not easy for them. Bird did pretty well, the brand new striker got little service and had a hard game but some clever passes, including one that started the move for our penalty. The marginally less new striker gets stuck in and kept his cool for the penalty. Turner in midfield looked like a classy sort of player but rightfully removed at half time. Wasn’t up to the speed or aggression of the game but looking forward to seeing him again. So much relief at full time, a reminder of how good winning feels and how good it is to see players show desire and bottle.
