Really it's as much ineptitude as inexperience. The owner seems to be leaving beard in there as he's more interested in his 'belief' mantra than anything else. Team selections are just bizarre...earlier with 4 forwards and 4 defenders (classing uche as one) on the bench...its bizarre. Then a couple get injured after selection announced...it reeks of complete incompetence. The injury element all season is crazy. How many injuries have there been and even during games...too many injuries seem to be happening during games. Its incompetent training and prep or recruiting injury prone players.
Selling their best player in remy, other teams getting results earlier, signs aren't great to go on a surge and get out of relegation battle

The Owner must have nerves of steel and the patients of a Saint, the club is in free fall. The new head of recruitment will be in position soon, maybe his first task will be to sort the mess out, maybe it's already past that time.

Would be nice to see some go and bring in proper players like bloomfield.

We seem to be sleepwalking towards relegation.. at present I am really struggling to see where we are going to pick up points. The way we're currently playing we'd struggle in the Isthmian, let alone this league. Something clearly has to change, whatever that might be.

We are in free fall and I can’t see where our next points are coming from. We are going to look even more stupid when Hastings beat us !

New Head of Recruitment on his way. Perhaps the wait for him to start has extended Beard’s stay. I thought this run of games Yeovil, Worthing x2 and Hastings with more players fit was the last chance to turn it around. 2 big games down and more of the same really.

I think the only way the Hastings game can go ahead is if we sign the cast of Casualty

The owner is the type to win sussex cup and get relegated and spin it as a great season. Something off there. Even remy...he likely had interest in the summer but chose to stay. Then he was used badly in the team and had enough I'd say and wanted out. Gravata could be next as you can see his frustration growing.
The players as well just seem disjointed and separated in terms of reaction to goals...there's little team cohesion there despite all efforts off the pitch for this. And thats not even talking about the football they play. On that level team cohesion, structure and style is just a mess. Things are getting bleak.
Unless recruitment improves and/or change of management its hard to see it improve enough to stay up.
The owner has really put the cart before the horse trying to grow the profile of the club before getting the basic footballing elements right first. Lots of clubs at this level have lots of turnover at player level yet are more cohesive and player better football than boro despite boro being full time. Then the amount of injuries which should better than part timers who wouldn't be training as well.
Its been amateur level from the owner since takeover. Checking out his online profile he's a complete chancer who tries to sell an impression.
Things could work with a good recruiter of players but relegation battle has to be won this year before anything good can happen.
Its been a farce of a takeover essentially

eb2023, i think your assessment is a good one but i fear Mr Leslie's footballing inexperience allowed the horse AND cart to be sold on, way, way too soon. with it went the clubs heart and the heartbeat. hindsight is a wonderful thing but his chief advisor and he look like they have completely misread and misunderstood what was needed at the time and that, along with poor management recruitment, has led things to here. There needed to be a slower and longer period of assessment as those that judged haven't proved to be good judges in any way. i agree with your views on remy and gravata and i think drawing players to priory lane is now a very difficult task, especially as good players will stay with their clubs with only mercenaries that are readily available. Exactly the profile Mr Leslie pooh-poohed in his extraordinary pre-season interviews. It doesn't look too clever just now but you have to acknowledge his belief, thick skin, his blinkered view and his alleged deep pockets, however, i fear support will drift away quickly if this continues as it has.

Not sure what to say really. To try and put some positive spin on it: Havant have gained 12 points from their last 6 matches.. they're still way off safety but looked absolutely down a mere month ago, so it shows it can be done, no matter how awful a patch of form. However, we need a spark from somewhere.. only where is that coming from?
