As per twitter:
“ Mr Simon Leslie (new owner) and Mr Alan Williams (new CEO) are inviting our neighbourhood residents to a meeting at the club on Wednesday the 2nd August at 7:30pm. The meeting is to discuss the recent application to amend the club licence and to give everyone the correct information, not the current information that is being distributed by other individuals.
There will be an opportunity to have a Q and A to discuss the vision of the new owner and we look forward to meeting you in The Sports Bar.“
What is the amendment to the license?

It was a packed clubhouse on Wednesday evening but the residents , many of who had never stepped into the club shouted and abused Simon the owner and didn’t really achieve anything.

Hi. New to this board but wanted to stick up for local residents, as I am one. We had every right to object to the licensing application. It is not moaning to object to the prospect of additional outdoor events held in the sports field, particularly with the number of people expected.
It is in no way connected to the football club and its aim for success. I wish them well.
To some of the critics on this thread, please appreciate that you would probably feel the same way if you lived close to the field.

Agreed that it's perfectly understandable to have concerns, but hopefully Simon has proved reasonable and constructive in his exchanges with you.

Simon has not been reasonable or constructive in his exchanges, as there has not been an exchange. The correct way to submit an objection is via the council. Our dialogue is with them. I actually thought it was slightly arrogant to assume that all objectors would be attending last week’s meeting.

Surely attempting to open a dialogue with locals is a positive thing going forward - it's certainly not a replacement for formal decision making processes and you can still choose to disagree with whatever he says.

Surely we should support this. As long as the concerts and other things aren't unreasonable and not past a certain time. Then there should be nothing to moan about

The club has had a license to hold outdoor events for upto 500 people for some time and I’ve never seen anything like that number there so 2000 seems a bit over ambitious. We haven’t got the info structure for those numbers without bringing in outside help so I can’t see anything happening just yet but the way a few residents acted was well out of order .

I joined this forum to hopefully explain the reasonable actions taken by local residents in submitting objections.
I gathered from some of the earlier posts on this thread that perhaps some contributors had misunderstood the situation.
It appears that my contributions have just invited similar silly comments and suggestions that local residents are just "moaning" and "well out of order"
You are all welcome to your opinions, as much as I think some of them are misguided.
Equally, local residents are allowed to object, in the correct manner, to plans that would considerably affect them on the saturdays/weekends that Mr Leslie would like to run the events.

Yes I park on the roads around the ground for many years not once have I caused any problems getting out of there property I'm sure the majority don't cause obstruction but what I do object those, who put illegal cones in the road the roads are for public use
