Good work out but still in need of a big experience front man

Well that was a bit stressful. Credit to the keeper and defence, dealt very well with crosses into the box in wet and windy conditions. Lots of room for improvement - like the big drop off in possession 2nd half and a reality check that promotion won’t come easily - but still 3 points

The firstkhalf we,should have scored 3 goals we must learn to take chances when playing with the wind hope the Standard of referee impoves worse than Packman

First half we were immense. Carry that on into the second half and we would have smashed them. Work to be done, can’t stand off teams and invite pressure like we did in the second half. But 3 pints and a clean sheet can’t complain! Kit is phenomenal!!!

Thought when Vigar went off there was no one able to hold the ball in forward positions and we defended quite deep. But saying this it was an opportunity for us to see a good defensive display in the second half when H

and are threw everything at us, but could not break down a good solid defence. If we can withstand pressure like that in future games we will do well this season.

Tough game against aggressive opponents. Our keeper was exceptional as were the entire defence, Shiloh Remy was amazing and deserved mom. I was a little disappointed that we could not get possession upfield after the Arsenal lad went off and the lack of a plan be to facilitate this. Better teams would have made us pay but still a win is a win.
Just a few words about the change of music at the start, horrendous, bad move to remove Sussex by the sea which I feel sets the tone perfectly for a home side. Did they play Tom Hark when we scored? I totally missed that due to the quality of the goal.

A good game I feel. We never looked in trouble throughout the first half but in the second half we seemed unable to maintain control of the game. Boro back line looked solid which is a great thing to be able to say. A good start to the season. Good crowd I thought but didn’t look even close to 1950 imo.

On a little side note, good to see burgers back on menu but it was a shame that seemed Tom Brady might have launched mine into its tray.

Yeah, I thought it didn't look 1950, but I did a rough estimate in the first half and it was around that as most people were bunched up due to the rain lol

Great first half, only disappointment was going in at half-time with a slender 1-0 lead. We were creating chances and should really have been at least 2-0 up save for some heroic defending on their part and a good performance from their goalie - he was solid, nothing he could do about our goal.. a cross into the perfect area. The second half (as expected) saw them grow more into the game, we defended resolutely largely limiting them to half-chances, but we did allow some balls to flash across the six-yard box.. given that we should really have been out of sight, that would’ve been gut-wrenching. Clearly Mark will see room for improvement, but a win is a win. First competitive game together, so understandable that we’re not yet fully firing on all cylinders.

5. Sherrif tries hard and kept going in 2nd half but i wonder if Vukoje might have been a bit more effective with some of those chances.
6. Hampton showed they can play 2nd half but our defence showed their metal to keep them out.
7. Clarke does a lot of good work in mid field but it was noticible that he and Kasim and young Vigar tired from there efforts and MB will have to get sub timing correct.

Promising start ... going to be a fun season and hopefully big crowds.

I agree with sidelines points,however I hope Mark manages to shout at the team without all the f bombs in future,else I won't be bringing my grandkids this year,so no more burgers or new shirts from me.

Welcome to non league. Its fine with me, shows he cares and will do a lot to win. It gets the lads going aswell
