Yesterday Hastings had over 2000, Worthing had over 2000 , Lewes had over 1400 , we would of been lucky to get 800 . Something seriously wrong 🤷

There is and has been for some very little information from the club and what has happened to all those excellent volunteers the club seems to have forgotten about

Dargiles,if you had bothered to attend the Q&A at the club you could have asked these questions re the volunteers. It seems everyone bar you is happy with explanation given. Its a new year, why try to post something positive for once.

Something seriously wrong 🤷 Not surprised to be honest, a hell of a lot of local people who I see during my work who are football supporters dont even know where the ground is. Serious lack of advertising regarding games especially rearranged games . For arguments sake we have a rearranged game on the 8th February against Tonbridge at Home but unless you drive past the ground or look in the Herald you wouldnt know the game was on. We used to have flyers with the next 3 games on at lots of places. There is nothing on any of the local radio stations anymore either.

There is definitely a lack of advertising for the club. The website isn't the best either. I don't think the decision to change the Senior age from 60 to 65 helped either. I know a couple of people who don't go anymore for this reason. The club could have introduced a similar policy but do it by increments over a few years. Better to take a reduced fee at the gate than nothing at all.

Misty another one who doesn't like the truth you want to start reading other clubs forums they are far more open what they say about there club I have attended many meetings at the club over many years don't start making statements when you haven't a clue why I was not there I bet I seen more matches at the club than you have travelled the country from Stoke to Newport

Dargiles,re the truth there are often different 'versions 'of the truth,I prefer the one I hear from people who try their best for the club often with unhelpful criticism from others.I don't get your argument about meetings or matches attended ,that doesn't alterthe facts.Get yourself on the 'board',let's see how well you do!,Chris

Misty unfortunately the powers that be only tell you what they want you to hear . I was told by a cic commitee member that the bar refit costs the club absolutely nothing but have since found out we rent the plants , paid for the photos on the walls and purchased the new furniture at a reduced price. Regarding our volunteers who operated the turnstiles for free for many years we now pay the kids to operate and supply computer tablets to them at more cost to the club. shame our stewards only get a burger and coffee. As for the clubhouse we have photos of players who most of us have no idea who they are on the raised area . Dartboards need to be relocated where they originally where as they created revenue in the week that the pictures don,t also we have played in red for many years so why is the clubhouse painted predomenately in blue ? Time to get a separate bar committee as the current one has no idea .Its Langney sports club , not ebfc. looking forward to the EAGM on January 13TH .

The problem is unless we get a Lewes or Hastings, neither are in our league, we won’t get large festive crowds. Whitehawk, again not in our league will onl bring a certain number. So really we don’t have a team that constitutes a ‘local derby’, but that’s also the nature of geography. Kent however is different. Dartford/ Ebbsfleet, Maidstone/ Tonbridge, will always attract big numbers. The standout one for me was Maidstone Gillingham, Boxing Day 1989, attendance 10,500 !!

Paul,I really agree re attendances. As we on the coast we only have a 180 degree catchment area while inland clubs can gather fans from 360Deg.Also town and United compete with us for fans.A previous post was right about lack of publicity around the town,in the past I have taken fixture posters to local shops.Perhaps WE could try that

A few years ago we had no trouble in averaging 800 gate when we were in the National leauge we were averaging over 1300 and our geographical position has not changed 😉

The crowds when we in the National League we’re boosted by away fans. The likes of York City, Oxford, Crawley, Grimsby etc. 800 locals, 500 away supporters there’s your 1300.

The key thing is advertising, and Maz is 100%, people don’t know about the club. I work as a courier in postcodes BN238 and Bn236,which in itself is a large catchment area. When you mention Borough people think they play at the Saffrons or Princes Park. Now you could argue that they’re either ignorant or they genuinely don’t know. For whatever reason it needs addressing. When you go to other grounds you even if your not sure where the stadium is you usually see fans with scarves etc and follow them. You can walk along Priory Road at 2.45 pm on a match day and be lucky to see one man and his dog. You can’t hear the crowd until your almost up to the turnstiles.
