Well, after a bit of a stormy start to the season experiencing ecstatic heights and nights to forget within the space of a few days, we seemed to steady the ship yesterday and almost managed to pinch all 3 points. Next Saturday we face another challenging prospect. Yes, Sudbury are two leagues below us but they've come out firing this season and going by our recent history in this competition it'd be reckless to prepare for this game any less than we would for a league match if we're to be serious about advancing. It'll be tough and I'm cautious towards getting my hopes up, but I'm sure many of us will be craving a return to the Competition Proper, something we haven't achieved in 7 years. Maybe this will be our year?
Who locally is still in the competition at this stage? Eastbourne Town and Hastings are through, Eastbourne UA and Lewes are out.

I think Tate is from the academy.

Great stuff, we need to keep at it! Good to see more players making their way up from the academy.

Good result, shame we had to concede at the very last moment but we advance to the next round.
P.S. Thanks for providing updates!

AFC Sudbury proved to be worthy opponents as we believed they would be in view of their positive start to the season. Both sides had good chances to take the lead in the first half until an excellent finish from Nat Pinney gave us the initiative. The second goal, following some excellent Sports interplay early in the second half seemed to knock the stuffing out of Sudbury and we enjoyed the majority of possession until they scored their deserved consolation goal right on time. A shame only 404 were in the ground on such a lovely afternoon to watch the game.
An enjoyable game with the right result for us so we can look forward to the 3rd qualifying round draw on Monday. You never know, a home tie against the Town could arise - wouldn't that be good!

We've been drawn to play against Hartley Wintney of the Combined Counties League Premier Division (Step 5). They've won 6 out of 6 in their league so far and have +24 goal difference, so they certainly won't be push overs.
