After last weeks great performance and result against Three Bridges the lads got a taste of what the Ryman League can be like if you're not at the races every game.
Whether it was the long journey, the knocks and fatigue from weekend games for some or just that Bognor were better all round 'Boro were soundly beaten at Nyewood Lane on Monday.
A shaky start and a penalty meant the visitors were one down in 8 minutes and continued to struggle for the whole half. Decent football came in 5 minute spells for the Reds but sadly Bognor were relentless coming forward, well organised and two yards quicker to the ball. 1 - 0 at the break would have been a decent outcome on the first half performance but a shanked clearance leading to a poorly defended corner meant that it was 2-0 after 45.
Second half started a little better but another penalty made it 3-0 after 55. Jordan Astells' calmly taken third goal in 2 games on the hour gave the boys some hope and Bognor seemed a little nervous for a while but 3 more goals in 6 minutes around 70 minutes left 'Boro playing for pride only.
A harsh lesson learned for the new lads and Bognor are definitely title contenders but we pick ourselves up and go to Whitehawk next Thursday for another tough awayday.
