For those who don't know, we won 2-0 today. 0-0 at half time but two goals from Andy Atkin in the second half gave us a well deserved win.

Fantastic result! I listened to the Hampton captains interview on SCR, he said our players seemed fitter than Hampton's players, so well done on top notch preparation guys.

Really good performance lets hope we can keep it up. Also we were so loud today and we all found it very funny when we were sining at playing the drums when one guy said "HAY STOP PLAYING THE DRUMS OR I WILL GET you KICKED OUT" after our response on stitches of laughter he went and got a steward who did not relay seem 2 care. so funny.

Yes a very good all round performance today... Hard to single out any one player above the others as all gave solid accounts..
Burning question now tho is this ... Who gets the Number 1 shirt come tuesday?? Thought Dave Hogan was superb at hampton and gave no reason to lose the keepers jersey.. Has Hooky got a battle to regain his place ?? Not a decision I would like to make !!

I agree that it was a hard fought victory today under pretty hot conditions.
Borough took a bit of time to settle but thanks to a brilliant save by Dave Hogan ensured the early promise from Hampton was nullified.
I believe it will have shown Hampton how different the football is between the Ryman Premier and the Conference (sorry - Blue Square South). The referee today was generally pretty good and saw most of what went on. The decision to send off their player was the right one - I thought he wanted to wear Paul Armstrong's shirt he couldn't leave him alone.
It was great to see so many Borough supporters there - must have been about half of the disappointing crowd of 406. They had more than that for a lot of their games last season.
It was great to see the youngsters come off the bench and put in a lot of effort which kept the pressure on their defence.
However the season has just begun and there is a lot of football to be played. Keep up the good work lads.

Nothing wrong with the drums when there is a good rhythm being generated (can drumming be 'tuneful'?) but definitely not when it is merely an uncoordinated banging.

Yes. I must echo what everyone has said. A good performance against unknown opposition. Thought pullers was superb as usual and hogan kept us in it with a breathtaking save at end of first half. Atkin took his goals clinically from two great corners from crabb. Thought hampton were good in spells but not really penetrating enough. Although i certainly dont think they will go down. There are teams in this league that are worse than them. As for the old boy trying to get us kicked out. Yes that was rather comical to say the least. Two home wins now and top of the league. Why not!!!!

...the best way to start the season off with a 2 nil win and great preparation; especially psychologically, when meeting our Bogey team Bish Stortford, on Tuesday night!! I thought Hogan was very good between the sticks. I hope that Lee can learn from Hogan, that is, to improve his communication with his defenders. He also seemed better in a positional sense, on set pieces, i.e. corners. Hogan for me is the one for Tuesday night. Atkin is improving exponentially. Our strikeforce is looking formidable and shows diversity in attacking options. Chamberlain looked very fit and made some intelligent passes, but, did make a few panicky passes that went straight to the opposition....Smart - for me in that duel for places. Crabb and Crabb on left and right wings. I thought that Pat Harding was a trooper, but, right midfield is not his position. Crabb there any day, as he is much more of an attacking threat. Rambo did well with some touches to feed Atkin, but when Tait is fit I wonder what GnN will do. A very good squad, the best I have seen from Priory Lane, no question! Too hot to play football though on Saturday. Phewwwww

When we started having drums at matches there was some rhythm but now we have these ' young' kids turning up with drums and just bang the things with no musical expertise at all and it just sounds awful. Perhaps they could get some lessons at Owletts nursery
