Its about time to be fair. Not so sure they are a 'sleeping giant' anymore though, those days i'm afraid are long gone.

They must have started the work before the grant was secured as I walked through there a couple of weeks ago and the stand had already been demolished and removed and a lot of workmen seemed to be wandering around aimlessly

I know they had the old 'stand' (if it can be called that) from shinewater fc when the two clubs amalgamated. It was dumped behind the stand at the oval years back but never put to use.

Does anyone know if they're still still going to have the disused running track around the pitch? (I can't imagine why they would...) Or are the stand(s) going to be up to the sidelines?

The running track is long gone, i think the plan is to have the oval purely for football. The sports park on cross levels way have all the towns athletics now, there will be no point reinstating it at the oval.

I was down there on Sunday, watching the under 18's and work seem to have started on the side of the pitch nearest the club house. Two separate concrete base's down, but for what I'm not sure,as they were either side of the floodlight pylon.
