I think that we have different players at different imtes. I would say Andy Atkin at one point, Pat Harding at another and Marc Pullen at another. Hookeys been as solid as ever, but the fact we have the best defence in the league really shows that a defender deserves it really.

Well Mark Critchlow, a lot of true supporters do care! The idea of the player of the season is so the supporters can vote for the player they think has given the most for the club during the season.
The idea of the supporters player of the season is followed by every club in the country and it is a shame you cannot appreciate that the players themselves are interested in this award. They like to feel their efforts are appreciated and rewarded by the supporters who turn up week after week.
Try to show a little appreciation of the traditions of club football even if you aren't interested in voting yourself.

Very hard to decide. I think that every single player is worth a vote, all have had bad spells but all have put 100% into most of the season and all have played their part in getting us where we are now, with the exception of Tait, who has had a stinker until recently and is definately the Man of the Month of March. I'm going to have to think deep and hard about this.

I'm tossing up between Jay Lovett (really done well), Harding (player playing most above what was expected all season), Adam Wilde (not everyone's favourite I know, but I think he has been excellent in just about every game, and provided many important assists) and Armstrong (unsung hero IMO, earnt the Captain's armband and organised and led the squad well).

Very difficult this season, as everyone says, there are a few names in the frame unlike the last couple of years. Will make my choice at the last moment. ?

I am pleased to see that you have amended your original post, Mark and joined in the spirit of the process. Not too painfull is it?

IMO the players with the most potential to win it this season are Jay, Armo, Pullers with outsiders being Andy Atkin, Pat, Jenks, Bakes and Hooky

Can't put Hook in the frame as player of the year - he has not had a single bad game, been very consistant and made some fantastic stops, but has also made at least one stupid mistake per game. Very impressed with Andy Atkin, but not in top player class (yet - but watch this space; I have a feeling that he'll be easing Rambo out next season, and Tait-Atkin will be the first choice up front next year). Matt Crabb hasn't had enough games to be a real contender (not his fault, otherwise he'd definately be in the frame). Tait, despite his brilliant last few weeks (which are likely to be what gets us into the playoffs) has not had a good season, and doesn't deserve player of the year, although no doubt his recent form will get him a good many votes. If he carries the current form on, though, he is a dead cert for the title next year. Any other player who has had regular first-team football this season can have a case made for them, IMO. But I have decided that my vote will be going for Adam Wilde, but I expect that Jay will be the one to win it this season, and you'll get no arguement from me if he does. To be honest, I feel that the whole squad has put such effort in in the second half of the season, and played so well for each other, that the Player of the Year should really be 'Eastbourne Borough FC'.

For me, the defence has been so good this season, that it should go to a defender. Pullen, Baker or Jenkins. Will probably vote for Pullen.

Player of the season??.............all of em'. If pushed......Pullen, with Jay Lovett and Pat Harding followed by Armo, Jenkins, Austin and Baker and Smart, not necessarily in that order....Oh, and Duncan Disorderly for some sublime moments and a few ridiculous ones too ;D

Quite agree, there's a lot of candidates this year - got to go with Marc Pullen or Jay Lovett though. If pushed it would have to be Jay.

Lovett seems to have a lot of relatives on here!
Armstrong must be the most consistant and Jenkins and Matty for pure enthusiasm, the last prize must go to the G&N for strange decisions, but they do give us entertainment, I suppose they are still learning at this level?
Anyway, we still have a good team, lets hope we can keep it together and build on it next year.

Ramsey is getting too fat and slow, so it must be another player that gets the award. Answers on a postcard please.
