Despite losing the match today, a good number of us at the game though that Boro were much the better team and deserved to come away with at least a point. Missing Rambo and Armstrong, we did give a good account of ourselves, and Man of the match IMO has to be Jenks... Outstanding at the back and what positioning when Hooky had been lobbed... Welling had a real let off when their number 2 hit his own post only for the ball to fall into the keepers arms.. Gutted to lose Crabby so early on after a crunching tackle by, the Welling number 2, yes him again!! We kept our good pressure and it was a real sucker punch to concede a minute form half time, but credit to Welling for a well taken breakaway goal.. 2nd half we took up where we left off, and put good pressure on the Welling goal, but the wind had started to pick up and this meant a few problems with crosses. Adam Wilde was causing problems down the left flank, and was too much of a handful for the Welling defence which ended up with him being hit in the face by a forearm smash from the Welling number 2, Yes him yet again, and still no sign of a card!!! We were awarded a penalty when Matt Smart was upended, but it must also be said it was a very soft decision, and many of us actually thought the challenge looked fair.. That said, golden chance to level, but with Rambo and Armo out, Duncan Disorderly stood up to take. Not the best taken penalty and easy for keeper to gather, but other than this, Duncan too gave a great all round display. It was just one of those days on the road again, but other than Crabby, it seems we escaped injury free... Personally i think the lads gave a good account against a team that is after all 3rd in our league...
