Chaps, whilst I know up until now we were all of the opinion that we would be ok, its time for reality to kick in. We are now in a relegation fight and the stakes are high. Looking at current form it strikes me that the minimun target for safety must be around the 51 point mark. Any thoughts ? Also the games against Sutton,Welling and Maidenhead are looking extremely inportant and are probably the best opportunities we will have to gain points.

Agree we certainly are in trouble at the moment. Maidenhead – down Newport – stringing a few results together Hayes – in freefall, and hopefully not stopping Eastbourne – unpredictable, can’t score enough goals, but with 4 out of 6 games at home the advantage has got to be taken. Carshalton – on the up Sutton – could yet get sucked in
We must we on Tuesday and look to get something from the next two home games. We will get nothing from Welling. Might get a win at relegated! Maidenhead and a nervous point on the last day. With a bit of luck we could get another 10 points, at worst 6 more points
certainly makes for an exciting finish to a season again

I posted way back that the "excitement" we'd have to look forward would be the relegation dog fight I thought looked probable.......given the relentless injury problems. I never imagined that it would take so long to find form and for us to find the net. Inconsistant performances on the pitch in all departments, as well as a bluntish attack. I looked in at Eastbourne Town on the weekend..........now that is depressing. We will still have a good standard of football if the unmentionable occurs next season........along with a clear out? Considering we have so many contracted player's, this may not be so easy.

i have thought all season that despite our lackluste form that we were never ever going to go down but now i think we are only a point off the relegation zone. it is dissapointing but i heard somewhere that only one team would get relegated from the zone because of cambridges downfall. maidenhead obviuosly.

I hope Football Webpages have got it wrong: www.footballwebpages.co.uk/league.jsp?comp=7&sort=6Interesting how 3 of the top 5 have had Damocles Sword hanging over their futures. Look where they are!! We have got infrastructure all in place, we're run like a business in the black, but look where we are!! I'm bursting to say, "IT'S NOT F*ING FAIR!!!" but that would be childish OK, the fat lady's not sung yet, but she's hammering on the door!

Damocles! well laudy laudy, somone knows their Classics. Greek courtier to Dionysius the Elder, tyrant of Syracuse, who according to legend was forced to sit at a banquet table under a sword suspended by a single hair to demonstrate the precariousness of a king's fortunes----------------> ACTUALLY
As for the Boro', I pray they still believe and go on the attack - best form of defence, you know! But, if Garry sits back and gets all defensive like and puts on defenders to i.e. preserve a 1 nil lead, then we might as well assume the position and act like a bike rack, and prepare for a...............bike to be inserted :/

Damocles, Dionysius and Syracuse? - sound like Lewes rejects to me, or maybe a 70s super group.
