I cannot believe that even with the invasion of the Youth Club on this site that the regular posters/supporters/critics have not bothered to comment on recent events at Priory Lane.
Un-beaten in months, play-off contenders, improving crowds, good passing/power football and now beating local title favourites Lewes in a full-blooded end to end derby game.
Where are you all now? What nothing to say at all ? How can this be happening right under our very noses ?
I have watched local football for many years both at Lewes and Eastbourne Borough and I can honestly say that the standard is the highest it has been in the history of both Clubs.
Eastbourne Borough had their problems last year, but what a response this season. Harding/Atkin/Smart/Tait all not good enough but now suddenly are.
Funny old Game this football.....

I was wondering where everyone had gone as well. But I think you've answered it; doing so well and, to top it all, beating Lewes, and convincingly, means that all the regular posters are, no doubt, much too drunk to be able to stand, let alone post! Myself, I don't drink, so I suppose it has been left to me to carry the flag onto the forum. God help us all!

Might post again when gets more sensible threads Ditto that - let's hope it doesn't deteriorate again when they go back to school! And, as Maz rightly states, who cares about how Lewes are doing? Let's worry about our own performances and let their fans worry about theirs. Unfortunately missed the games at Bognor & Gloucester, but on the evidence of performances at Fisher and on Boxing Day, we are play-off material. The players now appear as though they believe they can win matches: the defence looks solid; Smart & Armstrong complement one another well in central midfield, and we look good going forward, with Andy Atkin a revelation in a striking role alongside Scott. Still a long way to go, obviously but we have proved that we can beat the best that the League has to offer ... all we have to do is beat the poorer sides! We have an unfortunate habit of performing badly on the last Saturday of the year so let's hope that we can lay that hoodoo to rest and keep the momentum going against Eastleigh, before what will be another tough match at the Dripping Pan. Then, with a run of home matches we can hopefully use this Holiday period as a springboard for a play-off push, with the likes of Crabby and Pat returning.

It is interesting that there are more Borough supporter's comments on the Lewes website than there are on our own. I agree with the earlier comments as I am one who, whilst still occasionally viewing the forum now can't really be interested in ploughing through the many immature postings to find an intelligent comment.
I agree that the match yesterday was most entertaining and a credit to the Conference South. The standard of football is increasing each season that passes.
Yesterday, Lewes started at a terrific pace and I am sure will do so again on Monday. We are now a match for them and the games between the sides should be close with the odd goal deciding them. Monday will be tough but hopefully the players will concentrate firstly on the match on Saturday so that we can take the three points. The matches with Hayes and Basingstoke come to mind when we forfeited 2 points in each game which we should have won by a clear margin.
I find it amazing that a number of Lewes supporters are writing off their club's play-off prospects as it only takes a couple of wins to put the club back in contention and I am sure come April both Borough and Lewes will be near the top.
In this league the most important asset is consistency and any team who can put in a good run will find themselves in contention. A couple of seasons ago when we reached the play-offs we were in mid-table for a good part of the season and only hit the play-off position near the end.

With reference to contributions on this forum and the second forum site---------> there has not been a liberal platform to post comments that cover the whole spectrum of opinion, whether right or wrong or OTT; well football does evoke passion, hence the heart felt posts (in the past). Posters have faded away because of the PC content!!? The content is banal, because of the teens using it as a chatroom, but, the moderator should encourage them to use a sub-forum? I've been to most games Home and Away and I think that Boro are exciting to watch because you can never truly predict what you are going to get-------------->good, bad or indifferent on the pitch. However, the recent couple of games show a visible step up in class, confidence and application. I personally think we could reach the PlayOffs BUT feel that our squad is too paper thin to cope with the journey. En route there will be suspensions and injuries and illness and such a small squad will not carry us all the way IMO. Having said that, Garry has crafted a gem. You could say that he has made a silk purse out of a sow's ear. After watching Haverhill Rovers game and then Fisher and Lewes game you've got to agree. With refence to David be's comment about Andy Atkin: He was a centre forward with Eastbourne United, so this is his favoured position and knows how to use his head better than the other forwards. It is a credit to Atkin that he has proved so versatile playing at Center Half and in Midfield too. Same goes with Jay Lovett, Scott Ramsay, Ben Austin and Pat Harding that they too are so flexible - they must be invaluable to garry when he has so few players to choose from.

We are definately playing at a play-off standard. Other teams above us have games in hand and a better goal difference, but we have a very real play-off chance if we continue like this - we still have to play Fisher (twice) and Newport (twice), so if we can get ten points off those games alone we've wiped out the points and games in hand disadvantage. And remember that the teams above us are playing each other as well, so one of them (at least!) has to drop points each week. The ball is firmly in our court now. Carry on as we have over the last six weeks or so and we will definately be in the playoffs. At the moment, there are probably twelve teams with good shouts on a top five spot, if we can beat Lewes on Monday that will knock one of them out of the running. All we need now is to keep on winning, keep our fingers crossed that we don't pick up any more injuries, and not get any silly red cards. I really believe that this squad can take us to Conference National football next season, with a little bit of luck and a few reffing decisions going our way for a change; if we do go up, however, I am not convinced that our squad is strong enough to survive without going full-time and bringing in two or three quality new players, including a top-quality finisher up front. But, if we do get promotion, I'll take the chance!
