As the reserves are entering the combinatiion league and the youth probally staying in the county league now where do you think that will leave the reserve and youth at the club. . Playing mid week at places such as Reading ,Millwall ,Palace will rule out a lot of the existing players and maybe management .
As stated on our web site it is ideal for the first team squad as the fringe players / injured will get quality match practice but for the youth I cant see them going any further than the U18's
I know thats progression and the right way for the club to go but it seems a shame that the youngsters may not be able to go any further within the club

I don't think we will constantly have 11 first team fringe players! Also if rumour is true, there is going to be a third team which will play on the front pitch. So the reserve team will probably be made up of the fringe players of the first team and the best of the third team, which could involve youth players who are performing well.
Also I don't think its good for the youth's development, being taken to Reading or Millwall on a Wednesday night and getting thumped 8-0. It could destroy a lot of their confidence.
But they should still be able to progress, look at Simon Johnson, and also they have the third team which they can progress in to!

If Simon Johnson don't leave and join some one big, than he will be a firm favourite in the reserves next season !

A third team ? If there is going to be a third team playing on the front pitch they will only be able to play in a local parks league as the county and surbuban require floodlights, Cant see players that are good enough to play reserve team football playing parks football week in week out
