:oAccording to several sources Lewes have put 5 players on the transfer list and are looking to sign 2 more, One on his way out, is Paul Booth.( a costly summer signing) The Lewes REVOLVING DOOR turns again, and we are only 9 games into the season. (PANIC YE NOT) ;D

I wish that we could afford to get Paul Booth. I'm unsure of Tait, in the role of Conf std quality striker, doesn't look like fulfilling his promised potential, he doesn't appear to have the eye for goal. The past few games has seen our midfielders scoring. Tait has not had a shot on target... missed an open goal or three. Ok, early days, but looks less than Ramsay, when he should be more, coming from a higher level..

Sorry, can't agree with your opinion at all, the midfield is not getting the ball to the strikers and are having too many silly shots on goal. When Vic came on last week, he did not make any difference to the team or score, as the ball did not get too the front line. Somebody else said the old team has to accept the new players and not freeze them out. I endorse that opinion. I do not have any favorites, but I can see the weaknesses.

Paul Booth transfer listed, dropped to the bench, comes on and scores two goals! there was tincey SK in the middle of the new stand terracing, near the top, sitting on a chair and also doing alot of pacing about as Newport had a goal disallowed and were bossing the game, apart from revelation - Derek Duncan (Leyton Orient)... then Paul Booth comes on and scores two goals, within 10 minutes of coming on in the latter part of the 2nd half .....like I said, I wish we could afford him!!

Always said Lewes were over-rated, and over-paid. My neice is going out with one of their players and their wages are well above the average at this level, but the standard of play isn't!
IMO I doubt if they will make the play-offs. A top ten team, yes, but no better than our good selves, or most of the rest of the teams in the division on their day.
With both Lewes and Eastleigh playing pretty poor football, and not looking likely to improve, the whole division is wide open and I feel that we can make the play-offs so long as we don't get too many injuries. For my money, I think Histon wil win the top spot, the next four being Fisher, Boro, Dorchester and then one out of Sutton (who I think will come good), Newport (who I think will sneak into the playoffs at the season's end) and Havant. But I wouldn't rule out Farnborough either, and without the ten points deduction I reckon they would be odds-on to make the play-offs and a good shout to take the top spot.
Disagree about Tail though. He is doing a lot of work, getting into good positions, but not getting much by way of service. I've been impressed with Dolista as well, but the same applies. We seem to have a good team, when it plays together. First half against Welling they were a definate promotion team, unlucky not to have been three up. Second half, complete reverse and we were lucky not to have conceded three!
Seems to me that it is the last pass that lets us down. O, and it might be a good idea to tell Rambo that we play in red shirts when we're at home, and those are the ones he should pass the ball to.
But things seem to be coming together, we're only a player or two away from having a really good side, if Crabby can get back in the side soon it will make all the difference, Lee Hook must be the best goalkeeper around at this level, Armstrong and Smart are playing excellent football, Duncan seems to be up for it at the moment, and, as I said, I think we're on the way up. But if we do go up this year, we need a big cash injection to stay up, with the present squad, and not being full-time, we would probably go straight down again.
Anyone up for a small fund-raising bank job?

lewes are a very good team and have some very good players, but don't seem to be playing well so your getting on there backs saying all this? sure lewes will pull something out of the bag and start performing better

It is far too early to be writing teams off with so much of the season to come. The fact that Paul Booth was put on the list and then scores two goals must prove the incentive was there for him to put in a good performance.
Two years ago when we made the play-offs we had periods during the season when we were really struggling but results elsewhere kept us in the play-off position.
With Hayes winning at Dorchester, Thurrock now picking up points and Yeading doing quite well there are no real punchbags in the league and so every team has it all to play for.
I think Lewes will now pick up and with a couple of good wins be back in play-off contention.
It is up to us to keep ahead of them and the others to force our way and stay in a play-off position.

I understand that a lot of players are not happy down the road, so let that situation remain, mind you if Jay went their on loan I would love it. I feel he has picked up a bit of late, but his passing and delivery has a lot to be desired. He may have a good past, but the future remains a question mark for me! I spent one match watching him and he could do alot better!
Even after Saturday.

I wouldnt write off lewes yet still a very strong side playoff still easy possible for them I.M.O.!!

Why do you think they never make the play-offs, even when they do. they're stupid. they spend all of their money on expensive wages for crap players. if For once they paid some attention to their ground then they might get somewhere in life.

Dont worry bout them anymore they are double our league position, and things are not well down at the pan . Im confident we can go there and play them off the park and they will probably pike a 1-0 win like they traditionally do.
