Went to the game tonight (im a town fan), Welling we're very unlucky not to win the game realistically, Borough didn't look like scoring really played the ball in thr air to much, what do you Borough fans think of the match then ? ?

The strikers need the be able to get the ball, before they can do anything with it. Unfortunately they hardly touched it. We needed to sub the midfield, but didn't, so the game carried on with them hardly getting a touch. We still got a point and against Welling I think that is a good result prior to Histon. If we play the same on Saturday it would be good to draw, or win!

Steady Yatsie, your lot are not much better and we are playing better opposition. Admittedly it did not look good, to much long ball. In perfect playing conditions we didn't get the ball down and play it around.

Too many players under performed last night. Jiri had his worst game, Harding and Atkin looked out of their depth, Tait was poor and even Armstrong was well below par. Positive was another clean sheet.

re-jk None of our conference standard players were poor tonite. Unfortunately some of last years squad are finding it difficult coping with this higher level of player.l. The random shots at goal by certain players when our strikers are in a better position is becoming a great concern. Surely all we want are goals, not loads of near misses. The manager has to get on top of this now, and put an end to players glory seeking , its costing us points and I for one want to see a coordinated team not one of two parts.

Absolutely correst Grumps, I was saying that to my wife last night. They are not playing as a team. In the second half the front row was standing about waiting for the ball! We have to pass more and the mid field needs a look at. I have to say Lee Hook played well this time! We can do better though.

As the main site put it...Welling were playing quick, controlled football. I think that our defence were stretched, but coped with Welling relentless pressure. Our Midfield operated in the middle but not on the left or right. Both Harding and Lovett were bullied by their opposition player...and lost. Harding appears to have turned in to our makeshift player...poor sod. I don't think that he's mean enough, meaning that he needs a bit of Duncans attitude (controlled) and we might have the makings of something. Currently, he is no better than Liam Baitup was for us. Atkin is a square peg in a round hole. I think that he may have faired better in attack, using his head, as he did for united. Lots for GnN to think about

To be perfectly honest I was not surprised that we got a point as it was a typical home game against Welling. They are always quick to the ball and tackle hard and as said earlier we did have a few players not at their best.
I agree that Harding looks a bit out of his depth at the moment and perhaps a loan spell at a Ryman club may give him a chance to experience football at a higher level than last year and raise his confidence with a goal or two. I would like to see Lee Newman return as he does have experience of playing at this level.
Obviously this does depend on other clubs wanting Harding on loan so he needs to be better than they have already got.
Saturday will be difficult and I would like to see us deal with dead ball situations in our area with more confidence.
However, points are being accumulated and we should remain a top half team providing we take a few more of our chances. A point on Saturday will be great and then we can concentrate on beating the teams in the bottom half of the table.
