Just to add my sympathy and condolences to family and friends. I've stood on many a Sunday morning touchline over the years, cheering on my own sons. Something like this brings home just how precious our children are. My heart goes out to you.

My heart goes out to his friends and family and all those involved with the match he was taking part in. I can only imagine the pain and suffering his family must be going through. I play for Lewes u15's and it makes you think, while we were moaning at a refereeing decision, this happened. 14 years old, he had his life ahead of him and he had it snatched away from him. My heart goes oout to his family

My sympathy goes out to the Family. I saw Josh play the other wek as my son sam plays for the other u15s and he was a very friendly person. Just for your information you may remember Eastbourne United Recently held a Charity Fundraising day to raise Money for CRy which stands for Cardiac Risk in the Young. We are looking to buy equipment to stop this kind of thing happening again and the money we raised will be re-invested in eastbourne.

I heartily endorse the comments made on this and other sites. It is tragic when a life is lost at such a young age and it is so difficult for the family and friends to come to terms with it.
It brings everything else into perspective and makes one appreciate what is important.
My thoughts are with Josh's family and I am sure that in time they will take some comfort that he died doing something he really enjoyed without suffering.
Rest in peace Josh.
