Its cutting it a bit fine isnt it leaving at 4.15? Bearing in mind the rush hour traffic on the M25.

sounds like 4-15 departure is a bit late to me.takes nearly a hour to get to gatwick and whens the m25 ever clear.....always easier to loose time than make it up...just a thought..

quicker to go up to Tunbridge Wells and cut along Forest Road before you hit the town and pickup the A21. Should be quicker going anti clockwise on the M25 and pickup the AI (M) Got to Braintree in 1 hour 50 mins and shouldnt be much different to Stevenage

Good point made by Maz re - travel to Stevenage.
As an x Stevenage lad now living in Eastbourne thats the route I take whenever I return.
Would just point out that the A1m goes down to 2 lanes at the Welwyn turn off / junction so the traffic can sometimes come to a bit of a standstill at rush hour and a little bit beyond.
Should for any reason there be a major hold up between Welwyn & Stevenage you can always use the B197 which runs alongside the A1m and takes you through Woolmer Green & Knebworth into Stevenage.
You use to be able to park in the show ground opposite the Stevenage Boro ground. Failing that there is a big retail park right by so you always chance your luck in there.
On a seperate note any news on tickets / entrance.
I am assuming you can pay on the turnstile on the night?
Lets hope we finish the job at home today!
