I hate to be negative but the q&a was pointless. Posted a week after the event and we are yet to see the questions asked of the chair. I don't know what it is with the club but it always appears to be a closed shop. The media company that produces the content has a link to it's own site that appears to still be under construction. If you look at most other clubs in this league and lower they appear to be much better organised and promote better. Last year I applied for a season ticket but was unable to collect during the week before the close .I mailed the commercial officer who said she would arrange an alternative time. No response. This year on the day of the first match I attended the office hoping to buy season tickets for myself and son to be informed that no one was available to sell them even though there were boxes of them in plain sight. I really love this club after years of not following football at all I've missed one home game in six years we have to do better, I think we need a shake up.

If the club was more open with the supporters there would me support on Saturdays. I see that Bognor gates are well up on ours

Fair analysis from Jamie. No disputing that we have been underperforming in the league, but he has only been here six months and deserves a chance to put things right - hopefully starting today!

Waste of time if you ask me. Same story. Tell the fans there is lots of work happening in the background, that lots of exciting things going on behind the scenes, that will be more than enough to keep them quiet for a while. Really do not feel anything of any real relevance was actually answered there at all.

Out of interest how do we push on? i would be interested to know the answer to that. How do other clubs do that? As a sussex club i think we are probably where we should be,in recent years we have seen the introduction of the Academy & the hugely successful 3G pitch ,from what i gather the youth section is very well organised & players are being produced
The management has changed & the playing staff recycled this all takes time, looking at the table we seem to be no better or worse off than previous seasons & as stated is only 6 months in. Even from the county league the club has always lived within its budget & that ensures it survives & that we still have a club. Huge private investment until the sponsor gets bored is just a waste of time ,just look along the coast .They won't be back to this level. Blowing the budget to gain success then ending up in Ryman south seems bad business to me,& the people that do that walk away from the club & everyone else has to pick up the pieces. Geographically we are 50% worse off than most of the teams in our league & there is no big business in the town that could sponsor us. The rise of BHAFC has seen sponsors & supporters put there money elsewhere,Boro are an established National south club, both Whitehawk & Bognor have found the step up hard & its also harder to stay there. Pushing on requires huge investment & the national league probably means doubling it again, nearly all the clubs in that league are full time. Our best hope is a cup run to fill the coffers & get local interest back up, remember Oxford/Dagenham & Redbridge. The fact that there are 5/6 Eastbourne lads in the squad ,to me is a bonus,in this league players from Sussex are local. EBFC are the best non league team in Sussex & just being in this league is an achievement ,& i hope we continue to be here, look at the sussex clubs in the Ryman /Bostick league only Lewes are doing ok. I don't know but i guess the committee are all volunteers? if so they re doing their best & i reckon its a lot harder work than it looks. Speculation takes £££ ,the 3G should increase revenue but you have to cut your cloth, maybe another 3g round the back of the stand? Lets hear positive ideas or maybe join the committee

I was told that it was turned down for a good reason & Ebbsfl££t is nicely located on the river. I trust a man that built the club with his own hands to do the best thing for the club,i don't think it was investment more of a sale. Do you think that Ebbsfleet is sustainable or a rich mans plaything? but as mentioned bigger catchment area, more industry.
Whats your vision?
Personally build another 3G pitch behind the stand, sell the naming rights to the stadium, increase attendances, maybe build a gym & increase membership that way?

We're not that far off - we're slightly underperforming in my opinion, but the league we play in is about right for our size. Regarding Ebbsfleet - who knows what things look like behind the scenes and what it'll look like in a few years time.. all guess work. I can think of countless experiments that have gone pear-shaped (Hornchurch, Farnborough.. etc). Working your way back up to this level is no easy task, sometimes we lose sight of how fortunate we are. Look at Lewes, for example. Finally things seem to be clicking for them, but they've been stuck at that level for a while now after dropping through the leagues. I do wish to see us challenging at the right end of the table again and i think it's important that supporters continue to demand that, but let's not sell the family silver in hope of glory..
Regarding generating revenue, i remember there being interest from the rugby club to play at priory lane? Not sure if this is still the case, but we could try branching out to other sports suited to playing on 3G to bring in more people from the community. I wouldn't be against selling the naming rights to the stadium either- i know for some people the idea of slapping a corporate tag on priory lane causes them to shudder, but it'd be temporary and could boost coffers considerably if the offer is good (and i wouldn't offer this on the cheap.. as it'd be the crown jewel of advertising opportunity at the Borough). Aesthetic non-permanent changes to the club landscape are ok in my book if they help us compete.

I took advantage of going into the clubhouse before the H & are game and had a long and informative chat with Jamie Howell,John Bonar and John ? the coach. All listened to my moans and frustrations, somewhat diminished after the great performance against Crawley, and to my mind gave candid answers and opinions on the squad, ideas for the future etc. My real disappointment that,as far as I could see, apart from the gatemen and programe sellers there were only 3-4 others who took the opportunity to discuss and find out what is happening in the front side.If you missed it, it was a great to hear things from the proverbial horses mouth instead of guessing whats going on. One positive,in my mind, that jamie said is that from this week we will start training in the daytime one day a week. The recent posts from 'Jacko' and' What the Dickens' follow what I think.Lets cut the guys some slack and perhaps our positiveity will spread.

We had a chance a few years ago for in investment but turned it down and it went to Ebbsfleet look where they are now Be careful what you wish for, Dargiles. Im sure you all remember what BHA went thro! At Brentford we had Ron Noades, playing football manager in real life... Only to find the money, £200k a year our chairman was paying our manager (yep they were in fact the same person) and the money our manager was spunking all over the place, to buy players and look good with league positions were in fact a loans, not an investment, signed off by the chairman and the manager (again the same man) and we were in debt, well over our heads and Uncle Ron wanted to bulldoze the ground and make us groundshare with Woking! Luckily for us, Noades found a conscious after all and sold everything to a fan consortium. I don’t profess to be the font of all knowledge, but in my experience, if the money is going on 1st team it’s easy come very easy go! In my limited, experience at EBFC that doesn’t seem to be the case, the switch to plastic pitch alone, tells me that! The pitch will bring in money 7 days a week, a new Striker, even if he scores 20 goals between now and the end of the season won’t.

Yes, Smudge. We'd already been there at Brentford, as I remember the dark days of 1967 when QPR tried to perform a take over. Thank you ron Blindell, for riding to the rescue.

The deal with the kuwaiti's collapsed because they couldn't safe guard the future of the club should they get bored of investing.
The fact that they attempted takeovers at 3 clubs before us, then 3 after before finally getting a deal at then desperate Ebbsfleet kind of says it all.

as I recall, all the clubs that the consortium had their eyes on were or are on council owned land. I am led to believe that councils are easier to negotiate with as regards sale of said land than private companies. It is no secret that Ebbsfleet is now a prime area for development in terms of access considering the channel tunnel link. Just saying.....
