For us less adventurous fans we should be able to get commentary from their Radio Clarets broadcast. I did last time.... have to google mixlr.com then type in radioclarets (one word lower case) then click on RADIO CLARETS. Hope they are doing it today, commentary normally a touch more biased than our Kevin. I will try about 2.50.

Might have given us false hope as I have been on their web site and forum and can not see them advertising a broadcast .... will have to wait and see!

We never seem to get anything here and today was nor exception ,at least we didn't have anyone sent off ! .I suppose a bit like the recent away games ,a lot to admire from an attacking point of view but we really need to tighten up the defence ,Sinclair got into space and slid the ball past the keeper for the equaliser (some City fans thought it was offside ! ) ,played controlled football for rest of the 1st half ,looked to have stayed in the dressing room after the restart as the home team roared into us and duly scored the 2nd from a ball that travelled the complete width of the goal before forced home ,the picture of Pinney in the Herald does not do justice to him ,he is a big man and he came on for Hayesman (played really well and our little group would have retained him ) ,and hit a fearsome shot that rocketed into the roof of the net ,possibly we should have "shut up shop" but did not and let in another goal that proved the winner . In bursts we played well ,Sinclair anchored the middle ,Hayesman added flair on the left handside as did Raymond ,had to readjust when Beale went off injured which meant that Raymond went to left full back ,this coincided with Hayesman being substituted that left us a bit short in midfield ,looks as if our attacking play is improving but our defence looks really suspect ! Could have a should have had two penalties ,one in each half ,mind you on the way out one City fan was convinced they should have had two penalties and argued the toss ,and they won ! ,no pleasing some people . Boreham Wood at home next week is not going to easy !

Hi all, Chelmsford fan in peace.
I thought today was a good game of football that was spoilt by poor officiating. We should of had a penalty when your defender tripped Sawyer but the ref said no, I heard you should have had one as well so that even it out!
I have written a report for the fan site "ClaretArmy" which gives my opinion as a fan of Chelmsford and a lover of football. Here is the link in case anyone wants a read. www.claretarmy.co.uk/williams-fires-clarets-into-the-play-offs/
Before you start moaning at me for my comments about Simpemba, when our number 10 (Cheek) got booked, Simpemba actually caught Cheek's boot on the follow through with his boot, and he gave us a thumbs up and a smile once the ref had shown the card. For me, I call that cheating because he has deliberately got our player booked by feigning injury. Then towards the end, he punches the ball out for a corner and actually, he was the one that instigated the chaos near the end. Well a combination of him and the keeper plus Sawyer (our number 7).
Good luck for the season!
Regards,
Jack

[be]I thought today was a good game of football that was spoilt by poor officiating[/be]
From reading your "report" thats about the only thing we can all agree on today.... Penalties??? Hmmmmm yes maybe you should have had one, but we were denied two, one in each half...
The referee simply had to be one of the most incompetent we have suffered this season and god have we suffered some so far... The fact that he simply didnt comprehend the basics of last touch and ball going out of play was far to obvious to behold. Seeems the corner flag was too far away to point at when a Chelmsford defender put the ball behind the goal, and of course when a Claret shirt punched the ball away in his own 6 yard box, that seemingly isnt a penalty either...
Simps a cheat??? feigning injury??? Thats not how our captain works... Sadly tho you seem to have omiited the digusting tackle that ended Sam Beale's afternoon on the pitch...
Claret fan in peace?? Well this is an Eastbourne fan reply in peace and without claret tinted glasses on...

Simpemba was always the same, even when he was at Dover. As for Sam Beale, Ward ran ahead of him and Beale tried to challenge Ward who stretched to get the ball before Carey picked it up. It wasn't malice, it looked like he landed awkward. Maybe you should take your tinted glasses off!

That is the beauty of our wonderful game, two pairs of eyes, two totally different views.... Over the 90 minutes it was a great game of football to watch and on the balance a draw would have probably been the fairest outcome all in all.... Not wearing tinted glasses Jack, more like binoculars to see the pitch

Yeah our ground isn't the best to be honest. We are just happy to be playing in Chelmsford after our exile in Maldon and Billericay. It was a good game of football that was won by a blistering shot that no keeper at this level could stop. It was probably karma after Raymond escaped punishment during the chaos

Did not travel yesterday and listened in on radio/clarets, and was disappointed with the very poor standard of the commentary and very biased views of the two men in the press box. There was no continuity at all in the commentaries and they really ought to get more information on opposing players beforehand. Most times when Simpemba and Hamilton challenged for the ball they reported they had arms all around the Chelmsford players and they should have been penalised and always disagreed with the decisions the officials made ( I assume Chelmsford did not commit one foul during the game ) and worst still while from their position in the press box (so far from the action ) with steamed up windows that they admitted they had, they still had the nerve to criticise a lino as they thought the whole ball had not gone out of play for a Boro throw. I know they probably do this job voluntary but both were very poor and certainly left the listeners with no idea of the overall picture of the game. My advice to the two gentlemen involved on Saturday is stick to the day job!

Jack, you are welcome on this board, as are all non league supporters. You might want to reflect on your quite savage comments on Ian Simpemba. I think you made the same "cheat" accusation on your own board, along with words like "despicable". We can all say things in the heat of battle or immediately after a game when the passions are still running high. But with a bit of reflection we see things in a mellower light. Arriving "in peace" doesn't sit well with character assassinations, and you would gain a lot of credit if you took back the cheat word.
I wasn't at the game, but it sounds like a cracker and Borough will be hurting this morning, not to have got something from it. Tommy is actively looking to weld the best team he can - even if it means a bit of re-shaping - and the players are 100% committed to the cause. I think it's a phase that will bring rewards soon, but in the meantime the dropped points are costly in terms of the league position.
As for live commentary. it isn't easy. I've been doing it for 20+ years and I still often get it wrong. (And there's at least one MotD commentator who has far better technology at his fingertips, earns a tidy match fee and still gets it wrong...) What I would say to any volunteer club commentary teams - as well as many thanks for your hard work - is don't give yourselves pompous titles, and if you're going to be a teeny bit biased, do it with a chuckle and we'll probably forgive you.
