If we keep grinding out results and picking up max points with mediocre displays, the we can only wait for the free flowing football to come...
Top of league now, and although Lewes play weds, better the points in the bag than the game in hand!

Crowd only 621. Seemed to be a subdued atmosphere. Bit suprising since we are undefeated, top of the league and playing some of the best football ever seen at Priory Lane. I appreciate Chelsea and Liverpool had games being shown on TV but what more do people want from their local team!

I agree we rode our luck a bit in the second half, but by then we could have been well out of sight. The first twenty minutes we blitzed them with some fantastic, high tempo play. I thought we were going to run riot. If the penalty early in the second half had gone in the game would have been as safe as Saturdays, but give Welling credit for giving us a real fight for the rest of the game.

A couple of good results - unfortunately I missed them both being in Edinburgh for a family wedding.
At the end of the season it is the result that matters and with points in the bag we couldn't ask for much more.
Hayes have hit a bit of form so we will need to keep up the pressure on them ( with hopefully a much better game than we had up there last season.) However a 1-0 win will do me.

What was apparent in both the Braintree and Welling games is our need for another central midfielder. Smarty and Armo are doing the business, but we need cover so that they can be rested. Both Gary and Nick have said in the press lately that they are looking to strengthen in this area, I think it needs to be sooner rather than later.

Bit odd that Scott Chamberlain was sent back to Brighton after a month on loan with us but within days he has been loaned to Bognor Regis. Always thought he did well for us and would be just the type of player to cover the central midfield berth until someone could be signed on a permanent basis. Charlie Oatway was available but money was the issue and he has since signed for Havant.

I disagree, insofar that Scott C , IMO, came as a 2nd year pro from BHA, but, quite frankly, he: made more than his fair share of poor passes - giving away possession; he didn't work as hard as the current incumbents, he couldn't run - outrun by the much older Michael Birmingham in the Bognor game. He wasn't physical enough in anything he did. He just didn't look as if he contributed anything more than an Eastbourne Town midfielder would have, with the exception of JPiercey. I didn't think he looked like he wanted to be there,

At least it would have been a bit of cover!

Possibly try Andy Ballard in midfield. I know that's where he played for Abingdon last season apparently very well. It would give the other guys a break and provide more cover should injuries/suspensions take their toll.
