The Premiership. Link here.Even by the standards nowadays, I think the £25k Reading offered is about £5k too much. Wasnt that long ago when the top players were getting £20k per week. But now average players getting £50k?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Yes, wages in the Premiership are ridiculous these days and its seeping down through the leagues as well. But its a while since £20,000 a week was the top wage. Roy Keane signed a £52,000 a week deal in 1999, surpassed the following year by...Alen Boksic of Middlesbrough ( ) who was reported to be on £62,000 a week! However, if we take the current wages being paid as a given, for me Sidwell is at that level. He's come on a lot since being released by Arsenal, and a loan spell with Brighton, and has been one of the best midfielders of the season. The fact Chelsea are interested in him says a lot.
