Found this ditty on Lewes club website...
Former Tottenham and England youth international full back Marcel McKay has joined the club until the end of the season, whilst midfielders Anthony Storey and Junior Kadi have gone on loan to Basingstoke and Bromley respectively. Meanwhile top scorer Paul Booth has signed a new deal to keep him at the club for the 2007-8 campaign.
So does that mean at some point agaisnt basingstoke we will be facing just ten men again??? Lets hope Mr Storey keeps up his fine record of seeing a red mist!!!
And can you believe they have had to appoint new moderators to their forum after the old ones got a barrage of abuse at matches!!! As the mastercard advert says .... PRICELESS!!

I suppose the debate of who will be going and staying for us next season will rear it's head in the near future.

With reference to JK's statement I believe there will not be a lot of movement of players out of Priory Lane this year.
We seem to have a small but talented squad and by keeping it quite small most players have seen quite a bit of action. I presume Gary and Nick will be looking to bring one or two players in but realistically wholesale changes as seen with other clubs are unlikely.
Some of the football played this year has been superb and with Borough having lost fewer games than any other team in the league this season turning a few of the draws into victories should mean we are in Histon's place at this time next season.

I agree with Taffy. It's hard to see who the club would want to let go, unless for personal reasons. There hasn't really been a weak link in the squad, and the youngsters coming through have certainly not let the side down. And anyway, we don't want a 'Lewes Revolving Door' policy, do we? ("I say, Mr Jones, you've lived in Lewes all your life. Surely it's your turn to play for the club this week - all your neighbours have. Next week we're going to buy the Town Hall, and only elected councillors will be allowed to play, then the week after it will be all postmen.").
And, of course, it is also hard to see where any money would come from to buy new players. We couldn't afford to hang onto Jiri and Victor, and with the £100,000+ that now has to be ear-marked for pitch improvements, I can't see any new crop of players being brought in, no matter how much we need to enlarge the squad.
The only thing I don't agree with is the comment in the last paragraph. We won't be in Histon's position this time next year, as we'll be a division higher! Top of the Conference National would be nice, but I wouldn't put any money on it, and I'm a gambling man!

Interesting post on the Lewes Forum re Storey. I hope all was above board........... "I see Storey has gone out on loan. Basingstoke I think. I seem to remember he went out on loan shortly before Christmas but then reappeared in the game against Boro. I thought that was a bit strange as I thought if you went out on loan you had to go for a minimum of 28 days "

Yes, I read that about Storey as well. Nobody seems to know if he had a contract or not; the prevailing wisdom seems to be that if he had a contract then he had to stay for 28 days, if he didn't, then he could be broought back anytime. At the start of the season they said he had a contract, later on they said he didn't. There seem to be all sorts of problems with his player's registration as well (ie was he registered or not, was he registered at more than one club, has his registration been amended, and did it co-incide with his being in [or out] of contract). Several of their fans have pointed the finger at the board/the manager as having been up to some sort of fiddle, but as nobody has been able to confirm what the exact rules are, nor what Storey's status was, and as the club are keeping quiet about it, it's most likely that we'll never know the truth. But, all that really matters is that he is, at least for the moment, at basingstoke.

I find it quite unbleievable that everybody finds talking about Lewes interesting.

Not interesting, but it's quite amusing watching them fall apart.
