Tait really played well rambo played a more defencive roll but he is still a grate player and what was that stortford fool at the when we were going 2-1 to the boro boys and he said come on then so we all walk fowards him and he quickley changed his mind and buggerd off.

Yep he really grates me!! He struts about as if the club is his! The newer players seem to have more ball skills and are up for it! So why hang on to him. This should promote some discussion! I would also like to see some pictures on the web, is this posssible. Other clubs seem to manage it and it would create interest.

Another very good performance against another decent side, albeit completely different to H&W the other night. For MOM it was really a toss-up between Hooky (if only for that magnificent stop in the first half) and Ben, who was simply outstanding in my opinion. Good to see Allan Tait on the scoresheet: he worked hard all afternoon to get himself into good positions, and took his goal well.
Surprised to read moans about Rambo. Yes, he does have a bit of arrogrance about him and gets silly bookings but equally you need a bit of that ... especially when converting vital penalties at Salisbury and against Havant - four vital points. Also, who was it that played the through ball to Tait for his goal?
I agree he is sometimes too far off the pace - notably yesterday when Tait played a great ball across the face of goal in the first half and Rambo should really have been there after the keeper got a finger to it - but in his defence believe he had been under the weather a bit during the week, and seldom gives less than 100%.
With regards pics on the website, we had this question when I looked after the site. Unfortunately it's a case of numbers. Having tried to taken notes for a match report & take pics at the same time in the past I can assure you it is not easy. I am too busy manning the PA at home games otherwise I would do it... but if there is a budding photographer out there with a decent dSLR I am sure that Lee would welcome any pics for the site.

In Rambo's defence he also helps out in midfield when we are under the cosh which Tait never does and Tait has a very poor return of 3 goals this season. Dont think that Tait is very skillfull , he holds the ball up but I would say that Rambo has more vision plus he can head the ball . This isnt supposed to be an anti Tait post just giving my view on things

In favour of Rambo is that he never gives less than 100%, he fights for every ball when the team are not playing well and has, more than once, bullied them into getting back into the game, he is the best player we have in a dead-ball situation (including penalties, obviously, but not corners), and he is a great motivator, for fans as well as the players. He also covers most of the pitch.
Against Rambo is his speed. He is not the most skillful player we have, and Tait (when playing well), Andy Aitkin, even new boy Harding, could all have good claims on his number nine shirt. When he is marked by a hald-way decent player he simply isn't in the game, as he needs half a second on the ball to decide what to do; if he is closely marked and doesn't get the time, then his play can be terrible.
But over the seasons he has had dry spells and always come back with a flurry of goals, normally just when we need them. I think that he is a good player to have in the squad, but if Tait starts playing well, consistantly ( can't talk about Saturday, second game I've missed this season), then I can't see him getting better than a place on the bench. If we do go up this season, then I think that it may well be best for all concerned if he was to take a move to another club, as I think his speed would catch him out at the higher level, and we would be better off with a younger, faster player up front.
As regards Tait, I wouldn't say that his skill is in doubt. He has shown that he is a first-class player before, and his playing record should make him the best player at the club. However, he simply hasn't provided the goods this season. Maybe he is unfit (each time I've watched him he has looked less than 100%); maybe the Boro are trying to force him into a style that doesn't suit him; maybe he is just going through a bad patch and will come out of it; maybe he had a couple of poor games to start with and his confidence went. I simply don't know, but by all reports he played very well against Stortford, so maybe we'll be seeing a new Tait from now on. But if he doesn't play better than he has (for a full ninety minutes; he's always shown great touches for all of thirty seconds in a game, then gone to sleep for the rest of it) then he is just filling up space at the club and we would be better off without him. If he does get his old form back, he could well be the player who gets us into the play-offs, the player who gets us through them (here's hoping, anyway!), and be the key player for us in the Conference National. If he does start scoring for the fun of it (the reputation he came with) from now to the end of the season, everything that has been said about him (including by me) wil be forgotten and he'll be the new club hero.
Hope to see him get his first hat-trick against Histon!
