dont know if anyone saw my post in the thread about kings lynn going under (what happened to that thread?), but i mentioned that it was a shame that clubs are folding for the sake of a premiership stars weekly wage, & suggested it would be nice if the players went back to their origins & grassroot level to take a struggling club under their wings & financially help them out via some sort of sponsership deal.
quite funny really, but i see stuart psycho pearce has sponsered the no3 shirt at wealdstone for the next 10 years, as stated in the news of the world today.
my waffle wasnt so stupid then, lol

Am I the only one who'd prefer to see some of these threads remain on the main board? We all love nattering away about Borough but there is a wider world to consider and it all adds a bit of variety, and keeps the debate flowing, if we can veer slightly off topic. I hardly ever visit the Misc section - it's just too easy to forget it's there.
Time for an appeal to Phantom? Or am I a minority of one?

I feel that, in principle, football topics ONLY, such as Kings Lynn, should be kept on the main board; I guess that it's arranged the way it is to prevent totally irrelvant threads being created, (the price of fish and chips, the latest episode of Corrie, etc.)

I tend to agree Corra ... though I'm not aware that anyone has really abused the board with anything really silly.
Much as I applaud Phantom's good management of this site (especially his/her measured approach to the nonsense from certain idiots a few months back) I think forums work best when there's light-touch moderation and they are left to find their natural level.
Maybe we could have an experimental period (say, a month) in which nothing is shifted away from the main board, unless it was truly stupid or offensive. Then we could maybe vote on whether we revert to the current system or allow the main board to expand its content a bit.
Thoughts?

There are plenty of forums elsewhere, for "general stuff" anyway. I also post at digitalspy.co.uk, (under a different name) which is essential a broadcasting forum, but I can thoroughly recommend this non-league thread, if you haven't come across it already: www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=752011
