There's a thread comparing Priory Lane to The Dripping Pan on the Lewes forum - I raise it here as it's interesting and Boro visitors to the Lewes forum are making contributions. For what it's worth I think the facilities at The Lane are way in advance of the Pan - but do like the elevated position the Dripping Pan affords - comfortable on 3 sides at least. However there is a view that the Lewes crowd generate more noise. Well I have been to all Boro Lewes fixtures home and away since the mid 90's and can never remember a Lewes crowd out singing The Sports at any time during a game - glory hunters at PL 2 years ago excepted of course ....... I have even attended Lewes games as a neutral and I have always thought them very quiet - especially over an extened period of the game ....... what do others think ...... ?
Oh yes, and of course Priory Lane, despite it's faults is 'A' Graded ......

just looked at the thread on the rooks forum. Those lewes guys are in denial, saddos couldnt beat us on the pitch, cant beat us with their pitch. Who wants Harveys beer anyway - our coffee is stronger. Their loos are usually blocked, the food is ...well enough said. The potential for future development at the lane is superior to the drip pan.

I like the Pan, and I like Lewes. I also like Harveys.
But anyone who was there last season for our 2-0 victory will have no doubts which supporters are the loudest.

Sadly Lewes fans continue to be blinded by their own delusion. Whilst the Pan has been significantly improved in recent years it is still a poor ground and, even if Lewes had managed to avoid the drop last season, they may well have been kicked out the BSP for failing the ground grading standards. As a general rule the club has been run well into the ground by a mix of plain stupidity and plain arrogance. The open chequebook has slammed shut and Lewes have had their fingers caught. HMRC have realised that the club can no longer service it's debt and are ready to put them to sleep. Whilst this is terribly hard on the 300 or 400 fans that Lewes has they do need to take a long hard look in the mirror. Had the fans thought it through they would have come to the conclusion that the club was spending a lot of money that it didn't have. So I remind Lewes fans... your ground isn't good enough for BSP, your players are not good enough for BSP (possible even BSS) and your support wasn't good enough (financially) for BSP. Harveys is a great beer but it's likely to be a bit watered down in a week or two by the tears of the Lewes fans when they go out of existence.
