Much as it's good to hear chants of any kind from our fans, I always cringe when we go into the Millwall "no one likes us" song.
Borough are a widely liked club, and one that has gone out of its way to forge links with the community and extend friendship to other teams and their fans. Our supporters are a pretty relaxed bunch.
Why persist with this weird idea that we're in some way notorious? It could become a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Football chants usually falls into 2 brackets. . . . those who follow the leader and use well known and used footie chants. . . or those with large followings of fans that adapt and twist a chant with new words and meanings. When I use to ref, some 'interesting' chants were used to describe my performance One unusual chant in particular was adapted and directed at me by fans of a non-league Shropshire club when they felt my decisions weren't fair: 'The **** in black works with wood, he saws, drills and produces planks at the end of his shift he w*nks and w*nks he's a w*nk*are, he's a w*nk*are an obvious play on words as I work in Hospitality, not carpentry and besides. . when 'my shift' finished I was always too knackered for organ playing ;D

don't worry about the meaning of some of our songs , the we are borough (no one likes us song) cant be adapted because these are the words that everyone knows and when these words are sung this is actually the loudest point of the song, I'll make sure this song is sung extra loud for you today

Wouldn't it be better to have an original song, which actually applied to our club though? You might as well sing Danny Boy if it's just a question of getting everyone to sing something familiar.

I agree with Monkeyman, when we heard it sang at the Pan we found it very funny indeed!
