I agree with robmarks on this 100%.I was thinking of starting a thread on the situation they are in and asking the question, would you support the fans if for example they organized a protest march. I remember the problems that Brighton had and did what I could simply as a supporter of "local football"So leaving the rivalry aside would you support the fans of Lewes in any action.? Remember they feel powerless in this situation, hence the anger expressed on there forum. In response to your question yes I would support in some form of protest action. Anything to help keep BS Prem football thriving in Sussex.

Support them in some form of protest? No way you must be joking. From what i can see the board who got them where they are has decided to stop spending beyond its means after putting a million into the club. They should be congratulated for finally seeing sense not castigated by a bunch of fickle supporters who ignored the warning signs. Remember the £750 per week bid for Rambo?

Exactly what sam says, they didnt mind last year when they had the money to buy the championship, but it was unsustainable for a small club to spend that kind of money and now its all gone t1ts up and things arent so rosy listen to em all moaning...

Maybe we can make them our feeder club?? Already are, Wormull,Harkin and Sigere!! Having said that only Harkin has produced the goods so far. Lewes forum seems to think that their team from last year would be comfortable in the Conf Prem, not convinced myself. What it really comes down to for me is that i would rather go to the Pan than, say, altrincham, N Victoria. Also prefer to have a 3000 crowd at Priory lane over Xmas period. Take on board thoughts about sour grapes now the money has dried up though.

Like you there were things last season in the way that Lewes behaved that were distasteful, but,I'm not sure how the fans are to blame for that. They to are also pretty p----- of with the way there board has behaved and all I'm saying that on a supporter to supporter basis I have sympathy for them and if shove came to push as a football supporter I would support them in trying to get there club back.It makes us realise what a good set up we have at the Boro.

Well said wha. Whatever the board or management have or have not done, its not the fans fault. Despite hating/liking lewes in a respect/rivalry way, their fans deserve better than they are geting by far.

Despite hating/liking lewes in a respect/rivalry way, their fans deserve better than they are geting by far. I follow both Lewes and Boro, but have stopped going to watch Lewes mainly because its rubbish for which I am having to pay more. This is a particularly stark comparison when put up against Boro's performances. The other problem I have is that it has just dissolved into infighting. On one extreme there are 3/4 on the forum who seem to spin on behalf of the board even though they are abroad and haven't been to a game, whilst at the other end of the spectrum we have a the person who seems to be head of the fans trust, who want to work with the BOD to improve things, going on the radio and having a pop at them, and I certainly don't envy lino Kieran (v Hastings) in his other role as a moderator Throw into the mix such things as a group who are publishing a fanzine called '10 Worthing Bombers' which they wanted to debut at the Rushden game, until someone pointed out it might be in bad taste on the 11th September, and it is a club very sadly unravelling. My solution is to say 'a pox on both their houses' and to exercise my right as a consumer and save the £15 or so for something I enjoy.

Looking at the Lewes Forum the fans seem split into at least two camps. How do we know which group is right and which one to go marching with? Seems a complex situation not quite as simple as fans v board. Also looks like King's halo is about to be dislodged in a big way.

Re: not moaning last season with money spending, well, as fans, we thought we were secure and what we were spending was within what we (and Martin) could afford.
It now comes out that money for wages was thin by february and the Supporters Club paid the wages of the new keeper at the end of the season.

If thats the case regarding wages Kieran, how did the board get the budget so wrong?? You budget at the start of the season, your gates were up , so what went wrong. Where did the money go or was it spent on the be grading last year??

Can't say too much as a I don't know it all and be my letter box is having a rest right now.
As far as I know, the budget had a hole in it by Feb, not entirely sure of the reason so wouldn't want to say it incase was wrong.
