Club has got it right . 4 segregated games out of 23 . Lewes had 16 supporters at Weymouth and were segregated and had police and stewards with them . Daft or what

look at lewes,s home attendance and they have a job getting people through the turnstiles at the pan without worrying about away games. lets face it ,it will kick of when we don,t expect it then perhaps the commitee will wake up, better late than never i suppose...

just read another post on our forum and all these people should read it as cambridge fans burning the boro flag in the second half and constantly pushing young children and there parents had to move to avoid a confrontation seems like a pro point for segrigation....

I am over 18 (well over!) and whilst it was really nice to see both sets of fans out on the grass before the game on Saturday I think Cambridge should have been segregated. When you get that many away fans it is just simpler to give them their own place to stand, and then they know what's what, rather than possibly allowing the chance for something silly to happen.
Are they now going to get the East end though, as for Oxford it was part of the West and North?
I don't klnow about segragating the bar as I don't go in there, though I thought we have 2 so is this not fairly easy top sort out as well?

Funny how all the under 18's want segregation and over 18's dont. Why do people think this is?? Can the under 18's please tell us why The thing that worries me about this is that our younger supporters had a chastening experience last Saturday when the away support "took there spot"These supporters our the future of our club and we need to "look after them" I am proud to be part of the Boro and we can still be decent to away supporters, look after them and treat them decently. Yes it was good to receive the plaudits from Cambridge fans and lets face it they were really surprised at the welcome they received. Equally there were reports of people feeling intimidated and that is not good.I myself interjected on a couple of occasions to suggest we got on with watching the football when the banter got to a potential kick off stage.I just think we are being naive and as I said in an earlier post we need to follow the norm at this level. IMO

Probably quite an important factor but who knows which other clubs in this division have segregation and is it across the board for all games or just some?
It's just that I think a matter of perspective should be taken.

If any of you that are in favour of full segration home and away have read the way Lewes fans were treated at Weymouth, then as long as you are happy asking to go to the toilet and being taken there and back by a steward then fine. Persoanlly i would rather be treated like a human being and not an animal....

One thing that hasnt been mentioned yet. In my experience ( and i lived through the violent 80,s) is that the majority of incedents take place outside the ground after the game. If we are going for full segregation, then this problem needs addressing too. Im not sure about segregation to be honest. I can see both sides of the argument. However said that we are too nice, what are you on? A true football fan is interested in all aspects of the game. What on earth is wrong with being respected as a good club. Would you rather we were thought of as a nasty one?

On the point of SEGREGATION some people seem intent on EXAGGERATION. A few hot-heads in what was a decent Cambridge crowd does not make a riot. I am sure lessons were learnt by our fantastic Stewards without going stupid about it. I do feel in this day of tech they could do with intercom which is no great expense, to keep them in touch.

Segregation does not have to equate to being treated "like an animal" As I have already said it does not mean that we can't or won't treat fans with respect and decency. The Lewes experience was unfortunate and not called for, hope we are treated better when we turn up.

I was involved in rescuing the flag on Saturday and yes, I had to move my young son to avoid him being constantly knocked into.
I'd suggest that segregation is a requirement for most matches, certainly those involving ex-league clubs or those likely to bring more than say 100 supporters.
At the very least the stewarding needs looking at - nobody to be seen on Saturday, things got close to punches being thrown IMO, what would have happened then?
Personally I'd segregate and work flat out to get more locals into the ground (especially youngsters), the bigger the crowds the more necessary segregation becomes.
Anyway, I'll be going again on Saturday for my 2nd visit in years, unfortunately my 7 year old has no interest in returning and not solely for football reasons.

Fair Comment nict. I was further down the North terrace and can only say what I saw. I did not hear any adverse remarks from the lads on the drum yesterday. I do realise we do not want to go in heavy or we will atract all the RIFF-RAFF gunning for a fight.
