Well I think we've signed all the players we're going to now (same as you?). I know it's getting a bit late but I'm considering coming down (with the missus) can you recommend any guest houses close(ish) to the ground please? Injuries permitting I'd say we line up like this;-
..........................Marriott
Osano.......Gulliver.......Burton.......Jelleyman
Tomlin.......Mitchell......Woodhouse....Burgess
............. Phillips...........Clare
Subs;- Rankine, Corcoran, Wolleaston, Margason(GK), McDonald

Best thing would be to go on the tourist info website as being a seaside town the be&be's will be very busy as it's the summer holidays so they would be the best to advise. Most of these are on the seafront and parking is not a problem as it's all free - at the moment! We are about a 15 minute or so drive from the town. I can't think of any particular be&be's closer to the ground as it's just set back from a residential area, although there probably are some in Pevensey which is a 5 minute drive away, but again the best bet is the tourist info.

Depending on how much notice, the travel lodge near pier can have rooms from as low as £29 a night... other than that its a case of pays your money and takes a chance...

Thanks for the advice everyone we're going to try and get into a guest house, they all seem to be located more towards the town centre than the footy club but it'll be fine.

no how many rushden fans will be making the trip? Crikey, how long's a piece of string? It's the first game of the season away at the seaside and we've rebuilt our squad with experience and some quality (hopefully!) so my best guess would be 2 - 300 (ish). Hard to say really.

Would just say that some of the 'guest houses' in town centre are in the the rough side. If you are going to get trouble in Eastbourne this is the place to go. Not serious by any means and you will probably have no trouble but it is in the area that most East Europeans live and the local hoodie idiots are 'flying the flag' so to speak. Try and stay maybe 500 yards east of the pier(google earth it) or same west if you are flush!! Nice pubs in the east area are the Victoria Hotel, local rugby club pub but absolutely no trouble as a result good food too. If you are loaded try the The Marine, great food and reassuringly expensive!! On the west side you have the town centre pubs, same old same old if you know what i mean, wetherspoons too.
Travel from town centre would be approx £6 in a taxi each way or bus £1.80 each way. You can get a day ticket for a bit less than half the price if you want to have a wander around eastbourne. The number 6 stops right out side the ground and is a circular service which takes approx half an hour either way round.
Well if you want to know any more info let us know. Mind you I guess you will want to go somewhere quiet, borough fan free zone, to drown your sorrows after the game so you might like to go to the Meads area. Very posh. Or perhaps the Eastbourne Town club bar.......
