From the Mainsite.
The clubs main sponsor, Town Flats & Town Property, will not be continuing as the shirt sponsor for 2008/2009. At the beginning of last season the company hoped to assist the club achieve promotion into the Blue Square Premier and with this achieved at the end of a hugely successful season it appeared a relevant time to step down. Eastbourne Borough chairman Len Smith said: "Town Property/Town Flats have been a joy to work with and very supportive of the club throughout the season. We thank them for their sponsorship and look forward to continuing to welcome Paul, Judith and their staff at Priory Lane in the future. It goes without saying that we wish all at Town Property/Town Flats every success for the future."
The club are in the final stages of negotiation with a new club sponsor for the forthcoming season and we hope to make this important announcement in the very near future.
Thoughts on this?

???Well that's a surprise, and don't think we were aware that was going to happen.Unless of course it reflects the state of the property market at present and they were unable to meet the required amount. It will be interesting to see who steps up.Timing not great though, does it mean we got to get the shirts re done?

I don't think that's a big surprise. I saw Lorna Gosling with CH just before the "Let's do Business" networking event at the Winter Garden. I asked Lorna whether we'd signed up a new main sponsor, and she said that they were going to meet with Town Properties to negotiate a deal. Considering what has happened with the property market it is no huge surprise. I did think that Rok would be a major (local) company that would revel in the national league status..... but construction aint what it was... Hopefully they get a good deal with the new people.

there was rumours years ago of ROK investing into boro if they reach the conference to make them a league club. was included in the five year plan i think. nothing ever came of it so lets hope they do invest.

id be surprised if they didn't get at least a similar level of deal now the club are in the prem. a much more attractive prospect surely of nationwide coverage.
i don't know anything about advertising, but im hoping someone backs their local side now they are playing at this level.

Just purely out of interest, does anyone have any idea how much a Main Sponsor would pay towards a league team?

Im guessing a five-pushing-six figure deal.

ROK would look good on the shirt but we need a sponsor that's going to invest big bucks

Purely on appearence, yes ROK would look a lot better on the shirts than Towns Flats did, but as you say, it doesn't matter who's on the shirt as long as they're devoted to helping the team and invest a lot!

Perhaps with the new main sponser being Hailsham Roadway construction they can do a cheap/free job on the rear car par surface and the road round from the front car park. Save falling down the pot holes that were there last time I visited.
