Latest pictures (link on news page of site) show that the pitch is really looking good now. Plenty of green and hardly any patches. I reckon it'll get it's first cut in around 3 weeks time

good good if the pitch is looking great, just wondering if the pitch is cut so that we have two shades of green like the proper decent pitches??
That would be rather nice and attractive i suppose I can't wait to get back to the lane again!!!!

Just wanted to jump in on this one and say really good job on the pitch. I can imagine how hard it must be to get it looking ace, especially with the problems we've had over the years. The groundstaff are obviously working hard to get it looking good and i'm sure they are looking at the longterm as well as the short. People often don't realise quite how much work goes into the pitch and are the first to moan when it gets a bit muddy. So I just wanted to say, it's looking great guys. perfect pitch for a perfect new start in the prem.

it may look quality but will it have the guts to deal with 22 players running over it

it may look quality but will it have the guts to deal with 22 players running over it compared to some non-league pitches I use to ref on even early season in the 80's, our's will certainly stand the test of time all season. After all, we are the sunshine coast so don't have much rainful ;D

Looks good from a distance but still a bit patchy & grass looks very thin & fragile up close. Still todays downpour & a few more weeks should put it straight. Lets hope that it has enough time to establish itself before 'Smartie' & 'Jenks' are let loose on it.

Don't think anyone expected it to be perfect for August or even this season. It will take a year or so to establish but the key thing is that it will be playable and the drainage will help through what appear to be wetter winters.

I hope the recent rain has helped, anybody looked at it this week. It did look a bit patchy at the start of growth, but grass always does. With a new level pitch and new floodlights it should be great. Bound to make our neighbours envious! We seem to be giving out a good image of both the pitch and the team. Spot on! Lets keep things positive.

Agree with you Seano, a recent picture would be good, but why not see it yourself on Tuesday after the match?
