Interesting times! Boston United have lost their Football Association Appeal and will now be demoted from the Blue Square North. Vice-chairman Neil Kempster confirmed to bufc.co.uk at around 3.10pm that the Pilgrims had lost their appeal and would be forced to contend with life in the third tier of non-league football ahead of the 2008-2009 season. It is unclear whether the club will be placed in the UniBond Premier League or the BGB Southern Premier League, although an announcement is expected this afternoon. Meanwhile Halifax Town's appeal to remain in the Football Conference has failed. The club put their case to stay in the Conference to the appeals committee of the Football Association on Wednesday. Halifax had hoped the FA would put them in Blue Square North, but now look set to be in the Unibond Premier Division - if they can stay in business. www.nonleaguefootballlive.com/
