I'm sure our new pitch will be brill for next season, but is all this media fuss needed over the Russian pitch for the Uefa cup final. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7408082.stmAlthough I accept the Final deserves a quality pitch, the amount of moans I heard last season from Fergie, Wenger and Rafa concerning, in their opinion, sub standard premier pitches after heavy rains. Ye gods what do they expect? It's called natural wear and tear from the winter weather. They just cite modern Health & Safety issues and players safety. When I recall some of the non-league pitches I played and refereed on in the 80's & 90's, the word 'mudbath' springs to mind. As an example, I'm sure some forum members have seen photo's of the 1972 Hereford v Newcastle FA cup pitch! What memories
