Although supporters naturally want their clubs to progress through the non-league steps, sometimes this 'progression' both on/off the field can demand more than is expected or available. Years ago as a non-league County ref, when I turned up around lunchtime to prepare for matches, I'd often find the chairman or manager marking the lines or mowing the grass. Wonder if we'll see Lorna or Len on the mower next Saturday ;D

I am up at Great Leighs, whilst contributing on here. The skies have gone ominously dark. The heavens will open up later, but surely nothing can stop the game now!!

Even though I watch Lewes as well as Boro I haven't commented on the events that have unfolded and I still don't know what to make of it. It seems apparent though that SK, from his side for valid reasons, stole a march and turned the whole thing into a PR disaster for the board. They have then compounded this by appointing an unknown who with Horsham YMCA at the bottom of Ryman2 wasn't called upon to help, but who may have the contacts in the long term to help with team reconstuction and getting the ground up to A standard.
It just wouldn't happen at Boro, the club is thankfully structured totally differently, the ground has been prudently put in place first, and whether Garry gets us up or not I have no doubt he will be there next season, so thank heavens for that.
