well done to all who played for the boro today,a fantastic match for the 360 who turned out to watch our boys play one of the favorites for the title. the first 15-20 minutes we were getting the runaround from grays but we still scored against the run of play.the game was still on a knife edge right up till the 84 minute when grays scored to make it 3-2 boro but another fantastic goal on 94 mins killed grays dead.final score boro 4 grays 2...at this rate garry will have big problems trying to get the likes of tucky and ben austin in the side. well done lads a fiver well spent....

very encouraging performance, my first friendly this year. big changes in the team but some things never change, Matt Smart's hospital balls and he is still chasing shadows (good job the sun was shining) am I the only one who thinks this way ?
Jari, Victor, Pat, Rambo and McA all looking good with very credidable performances from the rest.
one very sly incident that I did witness today was the linesman giving a V sign to a guy in the stand after an innocent comment in the first half, is this the sort of official we can expect this season.
It would be good if Club could place official complaint but is the going to happen. I don't think so.

Must admit that I'm extremely optimistic for the forth-coming season, although I can't quite fathom whats going on with our 2 "foreign" triallists! If I'm led to believe that these talented players do not have work permits(thats the general word around the ground today).......then why was Garry giving them a run out today when it seems unlikley that they'll figure in the squad/team for next Saturday?? Surely the Manager MUST have a fair idea who will be running out for us v Yeading! I'd love to see Victor become an established squad player........he looks like a useful acquisition, but can't see him muscling in on the Rambo/Tait combination,up front. Thought both of them were awesome today...............................Can't help thinking that Tait looks remarkably like Kryton from the TV series Red Dwarf!

I agree with the comments that this was an excellent game today with much to be pleased with.
I do agree with you Kwikfit about Smarty who I still consider is no better than some of our new signings and therefore should possibly be on the bench.
I was disappointed that Duncan MacArtur was injured so quickly after he came on as he had some great moves up the left-hand side and I believe he will be giving Crabby a real battle for that position. Overall a good team performance with a number of players not scared to have a shot from around the box rather than have to dribble it into the net as we did last season.
I am sure that once the season has settled down there will be some reduction in the size of the squad although I am sure Gary & Co will be thi nking of the dreadful injury problems we had last season.
Bring on Yeading - I can't wait!

Can't help thinking that Tait looks remarkably like Kryton from the TV series Red Dwarf! At Canvey, he was always compared to Beavis from Beavis & Butthead! www.beavis-butthead.ru/gif/yellow_1.jpg

Sad to see some things never change. The tyre changer and his mate whoever they are slagging off Matt Smart. Lets hope those two are in the minority and everyone else is 100% behind every single member of the team. Roll on saturday.

I didn't think that Matt Smart had a bad game...he was full on energy and giving it all. He is IMO an average player in Conf South, but not poor, nor is he a midfield maestro. However, it is an opinion, Forums are for opinions....[scratched record]. It annoys me when the "Mary Whitehouse Contingent" get all uppitty and idignant. Don't be so village football minded. Apologies if you are Matt Smart or his dad or someone who is a close mate...but, it is a view. Put your view as to why he commands the Sports midfield??!!!! that is how the Forum works, don't reprimand

Alan - pleased be assured that im not the Mary Whitehouse Contingent or related to Matt Smart. Im all for opinions on the teams performance but what annoyed me is that the same member singled out Matt Smart for criticism last season. Now correct me if Im wrong but didn't the whole team perform badly last year so to single out one player is unfair. As to my views they are irrelevant. If GW and NG decide to pick MS then thats fine if they don't thats fine as well. It's the team that matters not individuals.

Lets nip this in the bud before it gets out of hand, lads. Opinions are like haricuts every one has one and they may not be liked by everyone else. Personally, I like Matty especially when he is driving forward, my only critisim is he does make the odd mistake, but who doesn't, and he does not shoot enough. I would like to see him be a bit more selfish when chances come along. Last year he a had a number of prolonged injuries which kept him out the team and it was obvious he was not fully fit. Playing whilst unfit is in my opinion not the fault of the player. I spoke to him Saturday and he was injury free and keen to get started. ;D So as a final comment, lets get behind the boys, whoever is picked, and shout them on to nice convincing home win.

Don't why he doesn't shoot so much - remember that absolute screamer he hit at home to Bognor a few seasons ago?!!
