As I have been confined to my bed over the weekend due to a bout of the dreaded lurgi, I couldn't come to the match yesterday and so I thought I would pay a quick visit to the forum to see what people thought of the game yesterday.
As there have been no comments about the match. Did anyone go and if so how did the new players perform?

As I have been confined to my bed over the weekend due to a bout of the dreaded lurgi, I couldn't come to the match yesterday and so I thought I would pay a quick visit to the forum to see what people thought of the game yesterday. As there have been no comments about the match. Did anyone go and if so how did the new players perform? I went! and what is strange is that although we lost 2 nil, I remain positive. Where as during last season we never looked like scoring and were very negative and slow in the build up...this new look side were quicker and more positive, although the extra speed and quick passing of the Conference level of Gravesend flagged up the difference between the two sides, Borough showed that there is alot of quality and big player's that will do well in the Conf South. Tucky damaged his calf muscle...he said that he felt like he'd been shot in the calf...presumably he'll be out for month or so. Baker also picked up an injury too, though not so bad. I thought that Moffatt looked very good, again, on the wing. An improvement and contrast to Crabb, who was a little lacklustre on the left. I like the Crabby of old that ran past players and crossed on the dead ball line. I didn't see this from him at this game. Moffatt on the other hand was a threat and did run past the opposition... ;D Rambo came on as Defence was rejigged and played as a Centre Half. He improved as the game went on. He imposed himself on their tall No 9. Tait had a couple of goal scoring opportunities but fluffed them or was shielded off. Not a good game. Lee Newman came on and showed some imagination and Harding looked good, but needs to increase speed: mental and physical. As he becomes accustomed to this higher level I reckon he is going to get better. He did show that he's got a good footy brain: a run was made down the wing and Harding, instead of running down the middle, veered off towards the rear post, across the box, to create space and options. [be] Tom Moffatt stands out as a class player IMO[/be] He has what Borough so desperately lacked last season: a wing man that will run at and pass players and whip in crosses into the danger areas.

1st half I couldnt work out why Crabby kept going infield. He needs to be glued to the touchline as the outlet man . He had plenty of the ball and his crosses were good but there were times when he had drifted into the middle and their was nobody on the left. He combined well on the left with Jenks and faded when he went off . just an observation. Was also impressed with Tom Moffatt and it was unfortunate that Ramsay didnt get upfront . 2 defenders down already

Went to Hastings last night. Was 2-2 when I left which was after about an hour. Newman got both - second was a cracker. Worgan in goal make a clanger for the first and was involved in a misunderstanding with Jenkins for the second. Can't see him challenging Hooky for the no. 1 shirt on this display. Not much else to report unless it all kicked off in the last half hour!

What was the point of constantly passing back to the goalkeeper, especially as the pitch was a little dodgy. I was very impressed with Andy Aitkin playing a centre-half, maybe we have found a position for him. Whilst I accept it was against a team from a lower league, I thought he looked composed and fairly sure of himself. Might be worth considering if both Tucky and Pulman are unfit.
