Well, not really surprised to be honest. Should never have started the season without cast iron assurances that grants would be in place for the duration. Clubs essentially hung out to dry once the financial support stopped. Big big mess up by the league bigwigs and surely someone has to be held accountable for this? Not sure what role the DCMS had to play, but to cause a situation where clubs contract players, only to be abandoned midseason is just woeful planning.. and before anyone says “all good with the benefit of hindsight”, i think most people (certainly i did anyway) expected covid to still be a big issue by January.. so that get out just doesn’t cut the mustard for me.

Not sure who’s in charge of the league but they need to receive their P45 in the post. Not easy to take the positives other than we finished 3rd. Hopefully we can retain most of the players for when we start again and that includes Whelps .

Hopefully we can retain most of the players for when we start again and that includes Whelps . am trying to understand yesterdays news i cannot believe that the season is over the whole situation seems so unfair when you pick the bones out of it conference voted 16-7 play on south voted 12-9 play on and north voted 7-15 against ..total 35-31 overall to carry on but because the earlier vote went to seperate the two we are null and void 19-24...am devastated i dreamt of maybe getting to some games April/May time and with the way the team has been playing playoffs ..sods law that for the first time in years we really have got a decent side and a group of players and manager that seem to be going places i thank them all for all the times this season they have put a smile on my face and cheered me up during this difficult period i will always have the memory of being at Priory Lane in early December as we put Dartford to the sword a great day that im sure many more like that can follow lets hope this group of players and staff stay together as the future looks bright Eastbourne Borough will come through this and comeback stronger...roll on pre season and all being together

Absolutely bloomin outrageous - as the vote was to carry on, can those club members(team, management etc) that are contracted claim unfair dismissal or redundancy if their contracts are now terminated............
Thank you to all at the club for your time, effort and dedication to keeping the club going (and to all the supporters who have donated time and/or money to the cause - we WILL see you next season
finally thanks to Kevin for the last? Left Field of the season - brought a tear to my eye

I think we will be able to hang on to the players we have, they will probably be thinking they’ve in finished business. Pretty gutted that the most successful season up to now, certainly since the GW days has ended abruptly. I like the togetherness of the the squad and hopefully we can go again soon

I hope you are right Paul and we can hold on to the players and coaches for next season. Massive thanks to everyone at the club for all their efforts to keep going and keeping us supporters up to date with what's going on with Danny's blogs etc. Watching the live streams and highlights it shows we have some very good players who are playing attractive football in a good system and it is so frustrating we cannot attend to see them as this appears to be the best squad we have had for a long time, and to be in 3rd position is so well deserved and under normal circumstances I am sure we would have had some big gates. Heres looking forward to a bright future.

In today's Daily Mail there is a piece that includes the following 'another £ 5.4 million is also being made available to teams in top two tiers of non-league-in the hope that n & s clubs will rethink their decision to declare season null and void'.Lets hope,it seems ironic that lockdown, hopefully, may soon be eased and the vote went the way it did

I hope this article is right, seems strange this money might be available after the farcical vote. Maybe the League jumped the gun who knows. Let’s cross every finger and hope this prevails

In the paper today speculation that North and South Divisions are so hacked off with the League hierarchy that they are looking into breakaway league ??
