Disagree to some extent Trigger - if they pulled out at 'the last minute' you have to have your squad signed up and ready to go before that - you can't sign players the day before a season starts - therefore your budget needs to be planned in pre season
I don't think we will ever know but what gets up my nose is the almost instant 'it's mismanagement' without anyone knowing all the facts - everyone forgets the Board are volunteers not financial wizards.............

What do you mean 'their little empire' - they are all volunteers - become a shareholder and you can get your mates to vote you onto the Board and get it sorted then ??

Yes generally the squads have to be registered etc, although where we have no transfer window in this league it’s not so much of a problem. How many times have we signed players on Friday (usually loanees) and they’ve been in the squad on a Saturday? My point is this...... if I told you I was going to give a million pound would you go out and start spending tomorrow or would you wait til it’s in your bank? If they had no reason to think the investor would pull out why did they not get the pledge of funds in writing in a legally binding contract/agreement before including those funds as part of the budget. Someone dropped the ball here and it will take time for the club to recover. I just hope lessons have been learnt.

Volunteers or not they may not want another person interfering in their group
