Decent game , good result but if HW had taken their chances might have been different. I know it was a pay per entry but a crowd of 278 was pretty poor. The club are relying on revenue and this was obviously fans voting with their feet

Very good entertaining open game today with Hartley and Witney showing what a very useful side they are. First half was quite even after the 2nd minute goal from Wheeler and a quick response from H&W and in the second half Boro pressed high up the pitch and it payed off with 2 very well worked goals from Cox and Walker, to progress to the next round. Well done the players and management team and the stay away fans missed a good you'n.

Glad to the get the win and get ourselves in the hat for the next round but that first half was, in places, painful to watch due to neck ache from constant long ball football. Defensively we were shocking at times and HW could and should have capitalised but luckily they didn’t. Second half was much improved, amazing what can happen when the ball is kept on the deck. One thing I noticed towards the end, Boro were still trying to score more, not attempting to run the clock down, great to see. Money in the bank and roll on the next round.

Not a great performance against a determined and useful, but it has to be said, a limited outfit. From the start we looked at a different level and I never doubted that we would win comfortably. Our problem was that we played at a frantic pace which is great when it comes off, but how I wish we had someone like their no 6 who held up the ball when needed and controlled the midfield. We could use that style of player and left footed too. Santana Mendy at LW would fit the bill. If we had a left sided midfielder it would give us more options as well as we would be getting Campbell on the ball. Goalkeeper is becoming a problem, seems to have butter fingers recently and his kicking does not improve. The gate was poor, I know the weather was not good, but we've had worse. Why do many so called supporters decline to come to Cup matches? I know also that a number of season ticket holders won't come as they have to pay! This is a problem for many clubs not just ours. I don't understand their thinking. Are they supporters or not?

Sign of the times the club faces unfortunately. I live in peacehaven and they had there youth day a few weeks ago and had nearly 400 in attendance,if boro were to have one we would be lucky to put 50 on the gate even with out mass of youth teams.
Years and years of terrible hone form doesn't help and after recent dramas it can only get worse with a decreased budget. I dread to think what sort of team we will put out next season.
Doesn't exactly fill you with excitement down the lane these days and that's sad to say.

What was noticeable yesterday was I parked in The Rising walked around the corner into Priory Road towards the ground and there was no one in front of me or behind me until I got to the clubhouse. It was 2.30pm.

As a goalie back in the day, and after seeing numerous games this season, how on earth can you state anything about the young goal keeper! His kicking is only questionable when the wind is against him, as if you took much notice it was where it should be in the second half! And butter fingers is a totally unfair comment as he made a couple of goods saves including tipping that one on to the cross bar in the first half! The goal one of the defenders ducked out of it at front post leaving him to make a good reaction save and the rest just stood their and watched the rebound! The game it’s self we looked really exciting going forward just scared to put a tackle in and win the ball back sometimes but a good win overall and look forward to seeing who we get next

John610 I totally agree with you about our very good young keeper, the guy making these stupid remarks has not any idea about the game of football we watch. As for his idea to bring a county league player and put him straight into the side,I do not think so.I do have an idea what I am talking about being an ex keeper at different levels for many years.

Good win - H&W are a good side until our better fitness showed in the 2nd half
Shame about the crowd but it was a miserable day, I am a STH and I don't mind paying on the day
I also think Hadler is a good young GK and can only get better, if you make a mistake as a GK it often results in a goal whereas outfield players can get away with mistakes - give the lad a chance
Also 3 wins in a row - not to be sniffed at..........................

I must apologise for my previous post repeating itself, don't know why! Anyway to those shrinking violets who say I don't know what I'm talking about it just so happens I know a guy who has played at this level (albeit another era) and as a defender he reckons he would be a bundle of nerves with Hadler in goal. Does that explain why despite having very good defenders, we make so make so many mistakes at the back. Being a good shot stopper (which he is) is one thing, dominating your six yard area is another (because' he don't). Being in command; that's what makes a good keeper.

Ok he was at fault for their goal but he made amends with a couple of good saves after that. I think the trouble is we all watch top class football on the TV and think we are all top pundits and find it easy to criticise and find faults. If our players in all positions did not make any mistakes they would not be with us and playing at a higher level. Lets be more positive we did win after all.

He’s constantly talking to his back 4 and claimed one of the only high balls into the box Saturday, then sending Leur free down the right to force a corner the other end, so not just a shot stopper. He’s the best keeper we have had here in a while, so get behind the kid would be my suggestion. That defence has no organisation and backbone in it most of the time nothing to do with the keeper behind. Anyway that’s enough of that I’m just some old sod in the keepers union! Looking forward to Saturday and very optimistic for Salisbury in a couple of weeks

I understand that Claridge is signed on as player and still makes the odd appearance when needed. Their form has been a little erratic to date. I think the feeling is that they have underachieved. That makes them more dangerous as the pressure for them is off.

The one who gave our keeper some stick last Saturday was our own goal keeping coach
