It has been a while since I’ve posted on the forum, but hearing this news has seriously annoyed me!
So the logic from the board is to go get the Assistant Manager of the person who they sacked last season. His last job was Eastbourne Town and he wasn’t exactly popular there. It seems the cheap option and it is not going to motivate people to go down to Priory Lane. People will say judge him on results, but a lot of us can judge on what we’ve already seen. I would of happily accepted a new face with fresh ideas from a lower league. Or even an ex-player with managerial credentials. Jay Lovett, Chris Agutter names mentioned.
I know Q&A was done, which I couldn’t attend, but there is still a lot of secrecy. Last Season we sold Harry Ransom for what was reported a large fee and we had a backer. 7 months later we are in debt. The signs of something were clearly there early with the Norwich kid disappearing and not one publication was made. Then the rumours circulated which were all correct and it could also be seen in Lee’s interviews where his frustration was on show. Did they say anything to fans or manage expectations no. Not until they pressed the panic button.
This club probably has the most understanding fans, in regards of being happy to be budgeted within their means. But they’ve taken these decisions and now find themselves in a mess. Thankfully generosity has got them through but will it be a case of kicking the can down the road. We will see....

Do they seriously think this appointment will get an increase in fans through the gate, if so they are deluded. The only gate that will increase is at the Saffron’s especially if they continue their current form. Andy mentioned 2 other names that would have been a gamble but would have got the respect of the faithful.

Typical Forum - let's slag off and condemn before they have even started ( and without knowing all the facts apprently, Jay Lovatt is the new manager of Burgess Hill Town so was not in the mix)
Danny Bloor was assistant to JH - now he is the boss to do things his way with help from the other two - we have had some encouraging draws lately and as has been said anyone could have won Saturday the weather was that bad
GIVE THEM A CHANCE PLEASE

Sorry guys. Danny Bloor! Really? . I’m sorry, but I feel the faith that I had left in me is currently deserting my body rapidly. I think, I’m done now! Goodbye.

And so the moaning and whinging begins. How about giving the new management a chance, they haven't even been in charge for one game yet.I congratulate them and good luck to them,if Sergio is happy then I'am. He's a pretty astute guy so let's be positive, Chris/Misty

Not exactly anything to get fans excited about is it... I totally get working within a budget but his experience at this level is nothing but a failure. One of the old players would of been a much better choice even with little experience as we could of all got behind them.
I for one see nothing but a struggle and with more players to be let loose seems like a sinking ship. Thank God only 2 teams go down this season. Let's watch the attendances drop even more.... this is not pulling the fans and the club together!!!

Mastermind behind the JH failure, was kept on during the short MM era, if he was that impressive he would have been appointed ahead of LB. Fully understand about budget restraints but the club will save money next season when they don’t have to travel so far to away games.

Lets wait and see what happens over the next couple of months before we start slagging individuals off. DB is obviously not the choice of many, but he will be working alongside Sergio who has the knowledge and experience at this level and knows the players well and I hope he will have a big say in the coaching and tactics used.

I have no problem with Sergio being Player/Assistant Manager, but it seems strange that one minute we need £40k, the next minute the picture looks better and then DB is appointed, someone who is allegedly not short of a bob or two.

DANNY BLOOR? DANNY BLOOR? What a backward step! Not liked anywhere he's been and not a coach that had the respect of our players. He was as culpable as Howell, yet they have re-signed him. I hear Jay Lovett was in the frame, no experience of managing at this level, but more worth a chance than Bloor surely!

Can’t say I’m inspired by this appointment. His record in management isn’t great and his alleged long list of contacts didn’t help Jamie out much. To me this is a huge step backwards unfortunately.
Saying that, I wish the new management team all the best and really really hope I’m proved wrong.

So DB plotted this all along so he could get the managers role? Guy must be a genius, to think that far ahead! I can only give you my opinion of my limited dealings with him, genuine football guy with great local knowledge at this level. Is that enough, I genuinely don’t know, but neither do you! So why not give him your support for 20 games, then make a decision! Sorry Willsy, can’t stay off your forum😎😂

It was well known that DB did most of the day to day work when JH was here so yes he was behind a lot of the decisions.
