Not seen a thread just be locked like that before. Some bold statements erased though.

The Steve King thread was locked and some posts removed as the content had descended into personal attacks on various members of the board and their families. Whilst different opinions and discussion are welcome - personal attacks are not allowed. I can assure you this forum is completely independent from the club but this particular thread went to far. How can this site be completely independent if some 'unknown' person can block certain comments. Perhaps we need a new site. I have to say that our club is run by some weird people. Beginning to wonder if I should start supporting Utd.

Beginning to wonder if I should start supporting Utd. Well, jbjo, that's a very strange comment for you - as an anonymous poster!! - to write. Every message board needs a moderator, and Phantom is a reliable and responsible person not "unknown" to the club, although he is not in regular contact. Anonymity is the single biggest threat to the existence and the future of this forum. Around this time last year, when two or three anonymous posters were asking desperately insensitive questions about a member of the playing staff, I invited them (by private message) to contact me so that I could quietly explain the situation which they needed to be informed about. They only had to catch me at any home match - I'm not exactly hard to find - and we could have chatted. Needless to say, there was no response. That's only one example of the way that anonymous posters - a tiny but persistent number - are eating away at the fabric of this forum and indirectly of the club itself. We need a forum where everyone is open and honest, not hidden and sniping and subverting. Yes before you say it, I know that some other message boards permit nicknames and aliases - but the people behind the nicknames all know each other! I have friends and contacts on message boards from Lewes to Gloucester to Chelmo to Bath, and I actually know who they are! But on our own forum, people doggedly insist on playing smoke and mirrors. It's the reason why, as you all know, I seldom post here. But Friday's postings did not just overstep the mark, they were a dagger in the heart of proper, civilised, productive discussion. This forum has run its course. We should now see it laid to rest.

Well said Kevin,I believe some post were getting quite venemous and I am glad they have been removed. Some posts are difficult to get gist of because of poor spelling and punctuation.eg what does dargiles mean by "to near the truth".No criticism but these posts are only opinions, let's be positive ,even when losing, and support Boro.Good luck today lads, Chris Hayes//misty

Getting back to Steve King the thing that irritates me the most is that regardless how well he interviews as long as certain people remain in positions of influence he will never be appointed.

Wholly agree - I have not posted for some weeks now as the 'forum' has been hijacked by 4 or 5 people with an obsession about Mr King and the Board - it is no longer a chat about the football where a 100% playing record seems to be the only option for our small club, just a slag fest about the Board, who are all volunteers people seem to forget - you could always join it of course, but you won't as annoymity is a nice shield to snipe behind I am a season ticket holder and a member of the supporters club - always will be which ever league we are in - those who wish to support Utd, Town etc are welcome to go and do that Agreed the Board for me anyway, has finished

Agree completely with Moderators’ intervention here, the comments have been gradually getting more and personal of late. I know there’s not been much to sing about at priory lane recently but this obsession of some it seems to slam the board, the players and manager at every opportunity is ridiculous and is only going to serve to drive a bigger wedge between club and supporters. This obsession with Kingy is silly too, the man is not the manager of this club. He didn’t apply last time the job was vacant because of his contract at the time with Welling. If he didn’t apply, why should the club chase him?

My point has always been “why interview a person who you have no intention of appointing “ I just don’t think it’s honest

Well I’m sure they did but why interview a person who you have no intention of appointing how ever well they do ?I find it dishonest and struggle to identify myself with the club at present and I think last time we approached him even though he was on contract at welling

Hi guys , most on here know me and whilst i am a Kingy fan im sticking with Lee & Shaun for now. we all know that it would be amassive surprise if Kingy does see out his 30 month contract at Dartford and even though they are currently below us league wise im sure they will finish the league far superior to us. We need to face facts we are currently not a top three team in our league but just once i would like to get in the play offs or have a bit of a cup run. Totally agree posts being removed if they are getting personal , come on guys arnt we all wanting the same things . Its alright slagging of the commitee but some people don,t realise the time and effort they put in. I for one have pondered on some of there decitions etc . Lets all sing from the same hymn sheet for once eh !
