An entertaining and very fiesty Ryman 18s league game between Eastbourne Borough u18s and Horsham ended 2-2 on Monday night. (9th Feb)
With yet another changed side the home side started slowly and conceded after 5 minutes when Horsham went straight through a static midfield and central defence to score.
Boro rallied well though and Toby Clifford slotted a penalty away to level the scores on 14 but a lapse in concentration and failure to clear a Horsham attack led to a shot from the edge of the box making it 1-2
Ollie Taylor replaced the injured Charlie Morley at half time and Boro continued to press for the equalizer. Jacob Merrick for Clifford with 25 to go put more even pressure on and after a long stoppage for an injury to a visitors player Boro won another penalty which Nick Richardson put away for 2-2 .
Richardson had a great chance to win it at the end but the Horsham keeper as usual made a great stop and the game ended 2-2.
Overall disappointed to not take 3 points but still unbeaten at home in the League and good performances all round meant the crowd of 52 including first team boss Tommy Widdrington went home reasonably happy.
