[be][/be]Soapstar Celebrity Football Returns to Eastbourne Visitors are invited to cheer on their favourite soap characters next weekend as some of TV’s most familiar faces come to Eastbourne for the return of Soapstar Celebrity Football on Sunday 7 August. This year the charity football match is raising money for Eastbourne charity, the Tuesday O’Hara Fund and Eastbourne Community Responders and visitors can look forward to watching a star studded team take on Eastbourne United Veterans at The Oval, next to Princes Park. Celebrity players will include Emmerdale’s Danny Miller, Hollyoaks’ Anthony Quinlan and Jay Khan, and Elliot Tittensor from Shameless, with kick off at 1.30pm. Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Neil Stanley said “The team sheet for this year’s Soapstar Celebrity Football is looking brilliant with some popular household names confirmed to take part. With a funfair, BBQ and bar also on site, it makes a great family day out and it’s all in aid of a fantastic local cause.” Gates open at 11am and visitors will be able to enjoy refreshments from the BBQ and bar while the players warm up ready for kick off. With more players still to be confirmed, visitors will have the chance to meet their favourite soap characters before watching them in action. For more information on the Soapstar football match go to www.charityfootball.co.uk. Tickets for the match can be purchased in advance from Eastbourne United or on the day .

tittensor from wiki:
On August 15, 2010 he handed himself in to police following a collision between his BMW Z4 and a pedestrian who suffered head injuries. He was bailed out the same day.Two days later it was reported that the man, 18-year-old Oliver Flint, had suffered bleeding to the brain and had lost all of his sight in one eye and most of his sight in the other eye. On November 3 the Crown Prosecuters ruled that Elliott had acted in self defence He pleaded guilty to driving without insurance during the car accident and was fined £750 and given 6 penalty points on his licence.
Tittensor was assaulted as he left court by an unknown assailant, who was arrested on the spot

If it's for a good charity, I really could care less whether I know the celebrities to be honest.. Although I'm not sure 'TV's most familiar faces' is entirely an accurate statement, so I can understand the criticism!
