Blimey, your reputation for long postings will not die, and I do not disagree with anything you have said. Yes really!!
Lets hope the weather clears up and we can string a few wins together, nothing like a bit of success to stimulate interest.

I think its absaloutly stupid that our games are being called of cause of a little rain Im mean I personaly think the fa should fine the club cause the club cant forefill there obligations. you dont see any league 2 clubs having to have matches postponed due to rain and I bet other confrence clubs still play in the rain. are the club and players scared of the rain ? I mean cant they get a cover or something i understand what you mean. i feel the same but i know that everyone are trying the best sort out the pitch

i understand what you mean. i feel the same but i know that everyone are trying the best sort out the pitch [/quote] Wish I understood what you mean!!!! English is the approved language on this forum... We have had this discussion on a number of occasions and us fans over the age of 11 prefer real english, not text talk...

Convertedeagle, I think you'll find that it is not 'text talk' but 'txt tlk'. Or something like it. Probably.
Anyway, I agree with just about everything said up above in the thread. Yes, Boro is a small and (relatively) poor club, doing wonders, achieved a great deal in a short time, but probably not yet ready for promotion.
I'd love to see us up against Grays, Oxford, NV and so forth next season, but if we fail to compete at their level and come back down that is probably worse than staying put for a few years and going up when really ready.
To be honest, I think that the playing squad is, near as d**n it, ready for a higher league. A bigger squad for injuries, and we could do well. But the infrastructure isn't there. And the infrastructure isn't there for one simple reason - the money isn't there to pay for it. If I win the lottery then that may all be solved (but as I have not done the lottery in about four years that seems a long shot), Eastbourne council doesn't help, no Russian billionaires seem to be showing an interest in the club, so we really don't have a simple solution.
It seems to me that we've been a victim of our own success. The players are, mostly, at the top end of this division, the ground and level of support are good for this division (but mediocre for the one up), but the club's financies and reliance on volunteers belongs one (maybe two) divisions lower. But unless someone knows a millionaire who wants to invest in non-league football, and has been holding out on us, there's not a great deal that we can do about it.
The behind-the-scenes-boys have done a fantastic job, which can be seen by the fact that, on a shoe-string and a squad size more suited to a five-a-side league, we are not only in the Conference South, but serious play-off challangers for the second season out of three. The problem is, that without a cash injection, they will have to continue doing a fantastic job, as if they ever do an average one we're likely to be relegated! And no, I don't have any quick fix for it. I reserv ethe right to moan when things go wrong (on the dubious grounds that I'm a football fan, and that is what we do best), but that doesn't affect the fact that I also acknowledge the great work that has been done, and continues to be done.
Now off to double-check my phone book, to see if I've missed any Russian billionaires who owe me a favour!

andyk what are you on about when you say league 2 clubs are not like this well there were about 4 or 5 league 2 games called off at the weekend any way we aint a league 2 club we are conf south and its not a case of we can't play in the rain if you have been down the lane if you put one foot on the bad area your foot is a couple off inches under the surface and if a player comes in for a challenge the player is fuc#ed.
