Teams...
Havant & W: Gore, Michael Warner, Gregory, Taggart, Jordan, Byles, Harkin, Collins, Pacquette, Baptiste, Poate. Subs: Holdsworth, Watkins, Simpson, Phil Warner, Howells.
Eastbourne Borough: Hook, Lovett, Pullan, Atkin, Jenkins, Harding, Smart, Armstrong, Wilde, Ramsay, Tait. Subs (only four named): Douglas, Crabb, McArthur, Lightwood.
Baker (suspended) and Austin (injured?) unavailable, while Hemsley (transferred) and Keehan (on-loan) were never in contention obviously.
Another snippet - Jiri Dohnal and Viktor Dolista have been released by Worthing after playing just five games between them since their arrival from Borough.

didn't expect a win today to be honest
we simply can't afford any injuries or to let any more go - the squad is looking paper thin

So!!! where to start... Well lets face it there is only one place to start discussing todays game and that is in the lap of the officials. Incompetent to say the least, a bloomin disgrace would be a better way to sum them up. Havant number 9 elbowed Neil Jenkins in the face, not once but twice, right under the nose of both referee AND linesman... result??? a yellow card. YELLOW? ?? what the hell was the referee thinking? This incidentally after the same Havant number 9 had been shoving his arm joints at the face of Marc Pullen... But hey ho, we should expect these blatant acts at Havant shouldn't we. As for the linesman, only one of them seemed to have ever even attempted to get to grips with the laws of the game. It was only in the final minute when we were awarded a penalty that the other linesman, when taking position while penalty was taken, was actually up with the play!!!!!!! Yes it was a tough fought game, and yes, i hate to say it, Hooky was at fault for the second goal, flapping rather than punching, but we certainly didn't deserve to come away with nothing. Thought the lads all gave a good account against what can only be described as a agriculturally minded opposition( some tackles would have been more gentle if executed by a combine harvester) Nice to see Rambo almost taking the net off with the power of his penalty. Finally, am i being a tad cynical thinking the ref only awarded the penalty knowing it was inn the last 30 secs and he needed to try and appease his earlier actions.....As if!!!
