Interetsing item heard tonight on talksport. It appears that the policing bill for the Havant cup tie is estimated at £35,000 due to Millwalls reputation and that the crowd at Fratton will have to be in excess of 8,000 for Havant to break even. If a very low crowd, could put Havant in to serious financial problems. Not the best way to go into what is prob their biggets game ever. Another reason to thank our lucky stars we are a well run club!!!

Think it's 7.45pm on Monday. Shame this wasn't picked for TV. Potential shock maybe?

Lost 2-1 and crowd not big enough to cover their costs, so a really bad day in the cup for Havant.
As a former Millwall fan (complete with the tattoo on my arm) I have to ask what the police were smoking when they made this decision. Does anybody really think that Millwall would send a crew down to have a pop at Havant? Believe me, it just wouldn't happen. But Portsmouth now, that's a different story. Plenty of bad blood between Millwall and Pompey, and Millwall know exactly which pubs Pompey fans use, where to meet for a row. Sounds to me like the police wanted to take it to a bigger ground so that they could charge more for policing it, get more overtime in, come away with a profit. Something like Wigan all over again. Would the Boro have had to move to Gillingham if we had drawn Millwall (or Forest, or any other team with a 'reputation') in the first round of the FA Cup? Surely it is the police's job to stop trouble at the ground, not insist on moving everything, ruining what should have been a fantastic day for a small club, just out of panic? Are they saying that they cannot do their job unless things are made easier for them? A terrible decision, imo.
