That was the thing we appreciated about playing you Sunday. Very rare that we got possession from a poor first touch. It's just the simple and effective good first touch and simple pass and when the opportunity comes, the final ball. Not as you say poor first touch and a lunging tackle to retrieve the situation as it seems has accepted by a lot of people through the years.

There were several Hailsham games where I DIDN'T give you MoM though ;D
In all seriousness though, and I often ask footballers this, ever seen a glowing reference in the paper, or been given a MoM award, and thought: "Well actually - I wasn't sure I played that well..."?

God yeah! More often than not! Sometimes i seriously wonder if they got the shirt no. wrong or whether they were watching the same game. Got it once for Hailsham against 3 Bridges and id seriously had a shocker. I hit the bar with about the only thing i did that was remotely like what id wanted to do and that must ve swung it!
To be fair there are also games where you come off and feel like you've really played well but have either lost and its not awarded or, especially as a forward you play well but dont score - offset by the headline when you do nothing but score the winner i suppose!
